So it goes through a torque converter, so it is unsophisticated but you still will realise that letting the motor spin at slightly higher revs ( even with all that sloppy slip) will allow a far bit of power to get to the back wheels. Have you driven the auto very hard? I have driven both and can talk from experiance. And yes I would be quicker in the manual but alot of manaul drivers wouldn't be as quick as me in a manual either ( but of course no where near as fast as you) so what im trying to say is alot of manual drivers wouldn't be able to use the car to its fullest capabilities. Some smart drivers realise that they are not Marcus Ambrose or Craig Lowndes and buy the Auto so they can enjoy the car as fast as they could experience it in all its glory ( and still have a leg that works after half an hour of peak traffic ). I tried to "launch" by turning the TC off and taking it up to 3000rpm, ( used to be good in the skyline) and the car just sat there and smoked the tyres with a quite buzzing sound.....Not much of a launch but fun, at tad expensive on tyres though :lol: Fastest at the drags? the Auto, fastest around the track? neither! Its the best auto box Ive come across,if I compare it to my xy c4 box , bloody hell that's when your talking delay.Any way Im happy with it.
