Hey guys....ok first time for me was Saturday night, I must say very very impressed with everyone's cars! made me feel like my stock as a rock was outta place lol. So I started off well, I mean I was still in the group at the servo, but then as it got to the hills the group got split up. I was at the back with a guy in a new xr6 turbo 2008 model?? he was a champ by the way, so speak up if its you I wanna talk lol and also Adrian in his extremely good looking ute. We kept going, annoyingly stuck behind some nob in a holden >< but none the less we were determined to reach the group, it wasn't till Tanuda that I think that hope was gone hahah, it seemed like we went forever....Barossa valley somewhere, and came back to Adelaide via Gawler. Still we had some fun on the way, plus ive seen places ive never heard of. Anyway just saying that it was really enjoyable....and ill always be coming back, hopefully in a better looking car :D.

Speak up if it was you I was cruising with, it was a good laugh.

Cheers, Heeery.

G'day Heery,

That was me in the stocky FG. I went after the main group with you guys in tow after the red light split but when we got out of the curvyy bits and nearer to Mt Pleasant I relaised we weren't going to see them again. Sorry that common'ore caused you some grief! Me and Adrian in the blue F6 ute and another bunch of fellas in a nice white BA (sweet quad exhaust sytem) were still together (sorry guys cant recall your names at the minute!!). We hadn't realised til then that you weren't behind so we turned around and headed back to Adelaide through Tanunda and Gawler. We saw some places that we hadn't seen before too! Saturday night in a country town is real hit and miss. We stopped at a servo outside of the city fringe and Adrian headed to a party and the last two of us cruised to the city and then to the bay. Took it real easy but the boys in blue decided to pull over the BA at a random car check they had set up. The BA boys were ok as I did a block and when I got back they had gone, so I headed home to watch my EPL soccer team get flogged, oh well!

Great to meet up with you guys and I enjoyed the cruise. Will do it again some time but comm's to other cars would be good to ensure we can keep together.

Cheers mate. :beerchug:

Good to hear it was fun.

After spending all day washing/polishing/changing the oil/filter/vacuuming the glovebox, I thought Id have a qwik power nap after a shower.....woke up at 8.30pm wondering where the hell I was.

Too late for the run.

Went for a cruise on the Hwy (Anzac of course), saw a couple of XRs but no group of yus, so went home at 10.00ish.

Was there any Charity cruise on with Old Schoolers? No one was out when I was around. Nothing reported on the SMASA site or Hot Rod sites.

When cruisin I like to drive in a bunch and check out other peoples cars and SOUNDS going along. Driving thru the hills in the dark on single lane roads is not my thing.

How about organising the next cruise on some good main roads (dual lane preferably), maybe up the freeway thru the tunnels and back, maybe out to noarlunga on sth rd then back along the expressway, cruise along Port rd down to outer harbour, Semaphore, tapleys, finish along Anzac with a 1/2 way stop somewhere. (Mot all on the same night mind you...I like to Benchrace too)

I use to organise "Old School cruises" in the bad ol days and we gave out route maps showing the cruise layout...everyone knew where you were going...Zipples does that too. (though he gets 200 cars+ each run).

I can cruise me American Muscle or Luxo cruiser anytime.

But I like the Bloody Awesome/ Bloody Fantastic and F&*%in Good XR/GT/FPV Fords (Dont care at all about Xtra Yucks and Xtra Wobblys) and wouldnt mind cruisin occasionally.

Dont know if Bunnings is a good Idea to meet at any more, especially after they found a dead body in a car there yesterday.

So whos ready for another cruise soon, but more central and with a map and route planned out??

Last night was perfect for the Turbos, crisp cool dense air. Soon it will be too damn hot to be enjoyable.

I see a few ricers etc gather at Kmart Anzac still.

How do you get the BA-BF-FG XR8 and GT guys to come along to?

Last night when cruisin along Burbridge road I spotted a black BA GT at a servo with some old bald bastard (Just like me :beerchug: ) filling up. I waited and followed him along Tapleys, But I think I spooked him, he turned into Harbourtown...oh well...nice one too, FPVGTP gold and black plates (I think so anyway, had GTP as the last digits)

And my stock 6T was running real sweet last night too, loved the new Mobil one. I was ichin to have a squirt. (that's old school talk for having an impromtu acceleration exhibition with an opposing competitor, up to but not exceeding, the legal speed limit of course).

So whos in for a City cruise soon??????

Heery,

Sorry mate it all falls into place; now I remember your name!!! Told you the whole story above and you were actually with me the whole time, my bad!!! I thought Heery was the guy in the yellow BF that we lost along the way.

Enjoyed the cruise heaps. How'd your mates enjoy it - you had a few passengers hey!

Will cruise again with you guys for sure although I cant recall any 'drags' as you know we cant promote inappropriate driving

All within the limits of the law, private roads etc.

Cheers mate.

Hey Marco,

I would be keen to get in on an organised city cruise with maps, meeting points for the lost sheep etc.

Sending out routes on the site can alert the boys in blue which may result in unwarranted attention, so a meet/start point, discuss the route at the start, maps etc. Keep it simple and safe and it'll be sweet. Most of the city roads you mentioned above are well policed anyways so maybe just roll the dice and keep it cool. Might be good to include a feed/drink stop along the way????

Pretty weird with that guy found dead in a car at Mile End. Read in the paper today that when they found him around 6.30 am the engine was still warm? Stabbings, shootings, murders are everyday events now, WTF.

Maybe we could start the cruise at a church car park, although that may be more dodgy than Bunnings, LOL!?!

Cheers, :beerchug:
