yeah we've been pretty quiet over the last month however enquiries are starting to pick up. The office up here has only been open for just on a year so we're still establishing ourselves in the area, but I reckon it's just the calm before the storm. especially if a million or so people lose their jobs over the next 12 months as a few economists are predicting.

I own a concrete truck so we are starting to get a bit worried, not for the immediate future but for about year or so down the track. The building industry is a bit up and down at the moment. Housing is dead we haven't done a house slab in about 3 weeks. Industrial work is all we are doing at the moment and the company I contract for has a few big jobs on the cards which should keep us busy for the next 6 to 12 months but after that who knows. If people can't borrow any money they wont be building anything.

the world price for used cardboard has dropped along with the price of used plastic and paper, this means now we need to make 200 tonnes more a month to have the same output as pre global recession.

the slowing of manufacturing of white goods and small electrical has seen a down turn in the usage of cardboard making it harder to get.

the only plus is this weak aussie dollar if it was above .88 usd we would be going backwards.
