previous to this car I was refused insurance so had no rating!!

when I was 22 it was 1500 but when I got a year older and the cars value dropped so did the premium..

I lost my licence for reckless driving (inherently dangerous) for 9m and made 2 claims a year until I was told to f off by rac, year later got the t, no worries???

Mines just over 600 that's with the misses as the youngest driver shes 19

where??? WTF...how do most of us get so ripped off?

I just tried online with CGU.. they declined because its modded, so I thought I'd see how much if it wasn't modded.. declined because under 25.. can't win. might have to ring them :gooff:

Im with CGU I insured with them at 23(im 26 now) and told them of my nods as I went along. im paying $780 a year with $500 special excess (because I was a naughty boy and lost my license at 19 for reckless and excess .05) where do you live mate redfern?

ring and insurance broker and get them to shop around. that's what I had to do. I was with AMP and as soon as I lost my license they refused to insure me..

haha redfern... might as well be the new name for canberra.

I'll shop around for sure. I'll give CGU a call and see what they can offer.. at least so far $1460 with ryno is better then 2k with just cars. I could understand if I had a bad driving record etc..

see that's what I don't understand, with all the value my car has dropped with just cars, they never drop the premium.. I called and asked about that and they said that it doesn't matter (yeah right, so when my car is worth 12k they'll still be charging me 2k) I should have rolled it into the lake when I had the chance at 49k :gooff:

the next call I make to them will be to tell them to stick their insurance, unless they can bring the figure closer to 1k... otherwise thank you for ripping me a new  and goodbye to them.

Im 22, great driving record, pay $1500 a year full comp with Shannons, Rating 1.... They are the best people to deal with that I have found... the guy remembered my name just by what car I wanted the quote for...

The car is stock for now and as for mods they price it as for what type of mod it is eg: An exhaust would be classed as a low level mod and would be priced accordingly but an ECU mod woule be deemed as high so yeah, charge more... But would they really be able to find out if u flashed it?? so that's what im hoping for....

I called up RAVC they wouldnt cover me cause under 25 and driving a T, Just cars wanted $1700

Most premiums are worked out mainly on age and location of registered address.I pay $426 for full comp insurance with $400 excess.Going off this info you could probably work out how old I am and where I live. :nono:

Insurance is like buying a car, Shop around! There will be huge differences and basically go for the cheapest which coves your car the best.

Not just your age on this car is so important but where you garage it and the rating of the suburb you keep it. To registere mine outside of Sydney halves my insurance.
