AzZaMaTaZ Member 58 Member For: 19y 9m 12d Posted 04/06/06 02:17 AM Share Posted 04/06/06 02:17 AM Shannons will insure my xr6t with any mods I want. Premiums are a little high (about 200 dollars more than justcars) but excess is the normal $500 bucks. They seem very good and they do agreed value not market value.Has anyone used them and how do you find them? Posted 04/06/06 02:22 AM Share Posted 04/06/06 02:22 AM I tried to insure my T with Shannons last year when I bought it as I had my HSV Senator with them previously but was told on the phone that they don't insure cars such as mine because it isn't rare enough...Thought that's cr@p, so rang again seeing if I would get someone else on the phone and they said exactly the same thing...Have they changed their minds now Azz?Jack

After about 8 years with AAMI, and each year I compare the others, I find there always the cheapest. But your cirumstances, age, driving history and where the vehicle is kept are the most significant factors which make insurance a bit of a lottery.I think its a bit like your local doctor, if you like him/her and trust them than you stay with them.Remember the only time you really need your insurance company is when its time to claim. AzZaMaTaZ Member 58 Member For: 19y 9m 12d Posted 04/06/06 02:39 AM Share Posted 04/06/06 02:39 AM Hey guys, they asked me a lot of questions, and I answered them all truthfully. Like I told them im getting intercooler, edit, bov, cai (all from the wog) in about 2 weeks and they were ok. They did ask if I was ina car club and I said yeah part of the xr6turbo club and they were that's cool. I have all my mods listed in my sig and the upcoming ones with the wog!No one else uses them.My preimium with racv is 1350 and shannons want 1600. Pretty reasonable considering Just cars want 1400 +2300 excess and shannons is only 500 excess. I am rating one and im 24yo

I think the only other relevant factor which shoots up the premium is finance, and I dont have any.Insurance on these things rarely comes up on these forumns. They allow virtually unlimited mods (as long as they are legal) and can give you salvage rights on the wreck, but at an extra cost. Their premium was nearly twice what NRMA charge though.
