If in WA try HBF, $700 for me. XR6T, 26yo, Rating 1 for life..

I am allowed 1 at fault accident per year (Hopefully never) to retain no claim bonus.

Mods = As long as its legal in WA its all good as long as I tell them.

I'm with NRMA fleet and they said as long as it's legal, they will insure it. :spoton:

They will also cover drunk drivers and terrorisim :spoton:

Doesn't it seem odd guys that you hear 2 completely different versions of the same policy when they are reading it from the same computer system that is linked.

Problem is in the event of us having an bingle under their policy, which person are you going to be speaking to initially AFTER the accident.

Terrorism 'ey....In this day and age....they take THAT on and not a lowered car....sheeesh.

Cheers

Hey Guys,

I am 27 and from Ferntree Gully in Melbourne (eastern suburbs) and tried AAMI as my folks are with them, no claim history, thefts or frauds and could go ahead from an 'online quote' to purchase for around $1100.00 a year but thought I would ring instead just to make sure and got all the way to the end of quote on the phone and was asked how old I was... said I was 27 and the guy on the phone tells me I will have to go through Just Cars because I have to be over 30 years old to insure an XR6 Turbo with AAMI, so anyway I get on to do the quote with Just Cars and it ends up being slightly cheaper than AAMI who underwrite Just Cars anyway... only about $50.00 but still better in my pocket than their's. RACV was about $1100.00 as well... Once those 3 came back about the same I stopped looking because I figure they are all going to be exactly the same...

Still it's HEAPS cheaper than my previous car... an older, slower, heavier on fuel, outdated 1994 HSV Senator 215i which was insured through Shannons for just under $2000.00 a year and they were $1000 cheaper than RACV who wanted $3000.00 a year for the Senator...

Coudn't be happier with the XR

Im 25, rating one, no accidents and no loss of licence, insured through Just Cars (have been for the past 5 years and three cars) and my 2003 XR6T sedan, with full options, lowered, edit, exhust, dvd and all the other stuff it has (they know about everything) cost me $1200 p/a, which I was happy with.

Under 25 would have cost around $800 more the customer service fella mentioned.

Just Cars has been great, but having said that, I havent used them yet, and touch wood, I dont want to.

I am like but your web system is up to dated!! a bit funny I reckon!! any way I am 25 and rating 1. but that's the cheaps quote I could get!! GIO wanted $3300 and NRMA wanted $1990 any way I am happy with it sounds like they have good customer service because I had to use them 2 weeks ago becasue some d*ck did't watch where they were driving :spoton: and pull out frm a side street and hit me!! in my 10 day old Brand new XR6 turbo with 700KM on it!! It definetly pays to shop around. Im currently with AAMI. NRMA came in second by $100.

Typically the insurance companies work out an insurance quote based on the following:

# How old is the driver and level of experience (I.e. when did u start driving)

# How many "at fault" claims have you had in the past 3 years

# Who else will be a primary driver of the car (apply the above 2 questions as well)

# In which state and postcode will the car be primarily located (makes no difference if its on the street, secure lockup/etc)

# Type/class of Car (I.e. Family sedan or boy racer.... )

# Any mod/additions to the car

# Likelihood of being stolen/Safety rating (eg Satelite tracking in a Rexx)

Now regardless of the type of car/postcode add the following weightings to the base premium rate depending upon gender and age:-

# Male <30 (Base rate x 1.2)

# Male <25 (Base rate x 1.5)

# Male <21 (Base rate x 2)

# Female <25 (Base rate x 1.1)

I've noticed that what postcode you are in matters. I moved from a not too far from the city area postcode to one that is considered a bit more gentrified and I got about $100 off my insurance premiums after I had advised them that I had moved.
