Posted 04/07/05 12:23 AM Share Posted 04/07/05 12:23 AM As soon as I turn 25 I'll be going with AAMI, (Perfect driving history but they said they will not insure u25's in T's period) NRMA r an absolute joke, to insure my wifes car for $9500 they wanted over $1800 a year - WTF they wanted 1/4 of the cars value per year??? AAMI on the other hand where nearly $700 a year cheaper at $1200... Also when I have needed to make a claim (a not at fault claim) it took 7 weeks of stuffing around by NRMA to finally settle the claim at a little under $600, that means they stuffed around for 7 weeks to finally settle at an amount that it's even 6 months worth of premiums...Basically NRMA = (But I'm stuck with them for another 1.5 years )Just my 2c based on my experience

I was fearing that now owning a T my insurance would definately go over 2G! the only companies who would even care to try to insure me were RACV and JUST CARS (under-written by "aami").just cars came to $1650 ful comp which I was damn impressed about! I thought to myself PHEW!!! that's a relief I was expecting atleast 2G..then I rang RACV last of all, and to my huge surprise.... $1240 full comp!!!! I nearly fell out my chair and had to ask the lady on the phone again "are you SURE that's put down as 20 year old driver!?!?" she said yeah and sounded puzzled so I explained how 8 other companies basically hung up in my ear!oh well end of blog, just thought I would put a bit of faith into under 25ers who are thinking of buyin a T and stressing about the insurance woes!goodluck fellas! It would be interesting to see if that reflects what "the bird" has told you.

Posted 02/08/05 01:34 AM Share Posted 02/08/05 01:34 AM I recently went through the same woes with insurance as you. I ended having to go with NRMA as the only other one whom would touch me was Just Cars, and at an extra G onto NRMA's quote I told them where to go... (I had a not at fault claim with NRMA and was very unimpressed with how they handled it which was why I wanted to leave them, unfortuantly no choice...)Once I hit 25 (1.5 years and counting) I'll be switching over to AAMI (my wifes car and our house and contents insurance is through them...) plus that will be taking our premiums down below the 1G mark...
