sbr79 Member 280 Member For: 20y 4m 6d Posted 22/01/05 03:49 AM Share Posted 22/01/05 03:49 AM I agree that stats show certain races are more likely to cause accidents too. I witness it everyday many times in fact. And yet their premiums are they same as any 30 , 29 38 year old, BUT like I said from the inside they base it on risk factors, and age brackets are the one discrimitory they can get away with, because everybody is of an age group, where as Asians are Asians Aussies are Aussies and Dutch are Dutch so on & so on, so race stats would be narrowing it down to a racial discrimination. Don't get me wrong, I ain't against the arguement as such, but if Insurance companies insured every young one for a $50000 car and they keep writing it off, then everyone would either pay higher and higher premiums or we wouldn't have insurance at all, any damage would be out of your hip pocket...know what I mean. Like I said I am young too, and I witness the crazy attitudes of young drivers, I don't agree any young one in this forum is innoccent, I know I am a lead foot, and I had dramas insuring my XR6 n/a.Now I am over 25 though its only 600 bucks a year with AAMI. Insurance companies can and do discriminate based on sexuality - and they get away with it based on statistics SO why can't they discriminate against a race of people if statistics show that a particular race are a worse insurance risk??? AND WE ALL KNOW THEY ARE!!!

However, this does not mean they do not discriminate. I have been lumped into a mass statistic, ie, 22 year old males with sorta powerful/expensive car = worst drivers ever! This may be true but doesnt apply to me. I know im a lot less likely to have a crash than most of the idiots driving around my town who are middle age and atrocious drivers. Just because I put the boot in occasionally, I dont do it in unsafe ways like most of my age group. I leave my crashing for when im on my kawasaki dirt bike doing jumps Newais, enough ranting from me."Referral/Decline Unfortunately, CGU will not be able to produce an on-line quote because your vehicle has been modified."Hahaa owel too bad. Maybe it isn't so great for profit after all because all us young people are going to be in the "safe drivers" bracket one day and they wont have all us as customers..? Also from memory, I think they may have recently removed the 3 mods limit anyway (might depend on age).Just rang AAMI today and upped my mod list to above the standard three without cost (unless you want to up your sum insured value). I'm pretty sure it is aged dependent as it was one of the questions they asked me.

Not sure about your age?You can also try just cars, they will allow heaps of mods. A lot of insurance cmpanys won't touch unless your over 35 or charge you over $2500. Stuff That Good Luck! I'd suggest if you don't get the right response one day... give it 5... 30 mins or the next day and see what they say... you may honestly get a completely different response.... it's just ridiculous. Guest fmitry Guests Posted 29/01/05 03:35 AM Share Posted 29/01/05 03:35 AM I'm 26, AAMI will not insure you if you are under 30 and have a MKll, I own a MKl and you have to be over 25, go figure, I pay $998 with a higher Excess with AAMI.
