Hi PPLs,

I've got issues. :D

I'm 23 and I've got my XR6T currently insured thru RACV for $1200. (I've had plenty of insurance in the past and also have a house insured)

Now as I don't have a sensible bone in my body I thought it's time to mod her up a bit... just a Stage 1 kit with injectors from APS.

Now I've spoken to RACV and got a resounding 'NO MODs' answer from them...

Anyone have a recommended Insurer to have a go with that is Mods friendly?

Somehow I think my age will stop me getting anything done... :sook:

Cheers,

Miyagi

If that's all the modifying your gonna do don't worry about the insurance company. They won't pick the injectors from the standard ones and you can just unplug the unichip and take it out.

You raise an interesting point... although I'd rather have the investment protection in case I (touch lots of wood) have an accident. Think about it, if I'm injured (TOUCH MORE WOOD!) in the accident and carted off to hospital it'll be pretty difficult for me to remove the chip...

Does anyone have any suggestions other than JUST DO IT!? :D

JUST DON'T DO IT!!

Or try some other insurance company.

If it's only the phase 1 why would the insurance company have any reason to look closer at the car, it would look stock.

I've seen insurance inspectors hard at work alxr6t and the check EVERYTHING... oil levels/texture/rating, fuel levels/rating spark plugs (my regular place of service doubles as a holding yard for accidents) this guy spent at least 3 hours there going over the engine bay alone of this toyota camry that was in an accident.

When it comes to insurance.. you tell the suckers EVERYTHING, pay extra for the priviledge.. you don't want them to bend you over and tell your loved ones they have to pay your medical bills when your dieing in hospital

Miyagi - JCI (Just Car Insurance) would be a wise choice!

not to expensive, but worthwhile protection

Cheers,

Matt

Hi PPLs,

Based on your feedback I requested a quote from Just Cars and it came out better than I expected!

$ 1,753 ... not bad really which includes the ECU and Injectors on the policy...

A few things need to be sorted out on there.. I think I might have filled in some wrong things... so I'll have a chat with them and see how I go :banghead:

Anyone know if your allowed to cancel your existing policy and get your money back?

Miyagi

How much and who is everyone insured with? Just got my insurance premium today and the pricks have dropped my so called agreed value down to $36000 that's including all modifications. Premium is $2300. that's with just car insurance. So may be time to search for another insurer if I cant get agreed value back up. :sleepystuff:
