PM me if you want to insure with Allianz - I can waive our commissions and charge no extra for pay by the month.

That said, you have to garage it at night, and the excess is $2000 for theft if you don't have tracking.

All that taken into account, I still insured my car with RACV because it was cheaper...

Salesman of the year nominee right here

I am with NRMA asked them about insurance on a modded car , they said they would cover so long as mods would pass RTA check , so does that mean a lot of mods wouldnt pass ?

Only the mods that wouldn't pass through RTA.

Im captain obvious to the rescue.

Pretty much if its too low, loud with shiny bits of big intercooler and piping and it screams im modded, NRMA could refuse any claim. It would only take a good assessor to get wise and make life hard but im actually yet to hear anyone have any dramas.

I was talking to a assessor recently about this when getting a company ute fixed and he had a look at my G6ET. I have got a bigger turbo, process west cooler etc but kept an airbox and factory crossover. Turbo is painted black and cooler pipes are hammertone black. He looked at it and would have questioned the exhaust cos of the big dump pipe and obvious different tail pipe but wouldn't be, in his words 'too concerned about finding illegal modifications to void a claim'. He also said he was aware a ford dealer could identify if the ecu had been 'adjusted for performance' - what that means I have nfi as QLD dont have emissions testing yet and a tune doesn't necessarily make it illegal.

I wouldn't be too worried with my car if I got this assessor or someone like him, unless I had obviously punched it into a pole or something being a dickhead. Im currently with RACQ but need that changed this week because they laughed when I tried to update my details following latest mods

I've been paying my car insurance monthly and they just recently increased it by $25 a month. To be honest I didn't notice the increase initially because the letter they sent in July said something like "we'd love to have you as a customer for another 12 months.. and congratualtions you're now a ruby" I pretty much ignored the letter since it's been the same amount for the last 4-5 years. Anyway I realised today the increase today so I rang them to ask why I'm now paying more and the person couldn't give me an answer. She said "it could be your type of car is getting a stolen a lot in your area (that's BS I've never seen another xr6t around here and it's a low crime area) or it could be price increases" Duh, of course it's a price increase but WHY?? Then she said "it would have been explained in the letter sent to you" but it isn't. Actually when she said "it could be a price increase" it sounded like company jargon for "we're hiking the price for the sake of it".

OK so that's my rant guys, can anyone shed any light on this for me that makes sense?

Cheers.

my car is with AAMI, and my renewal will be due in mid October, be interesting if the premium has risen, cause I guarantee my agreed value will have dropped.....
