Guest Trevor Guests Posted 26/11/03 10:31 PM Share Posted 26/11/03 10:31 PM I went through an insurance broker and the best they came up with was VACC at $731. Then I shopped around myself and couldn't beat it.Then when I went to AAMI to cancel my old policy the offered me the $588.Keep shopping

I was told they were a giant bunch of pr1cks and to keep well away, as they will go to great lengths to avoid a payout.... anoecdotal evidence.Old dude crashes car, AAMI assesor asked "was crack in windscreen their before accident"O.D is honnest and says "yes don't need to replace windscreen" AAMI says "crack means car not raodworthy at time of accident, no money for you" Rich Dude rolls Rangie when camping, police arrive, R.D blows 0.5, taken back to cop shop for Blood test, less than 0.5, police happy and no charges laid. AAMI says "you blew 0.5 no $$ for you" R.D says F.U. sells damaged Rangie for cheap to my mate and lets his lawer loose on AAMI, I think he got $$ in the end but it was not a simple matter. This was all about 10 years ago perhaps they are better now... (and most places laughed at me)I am 26 now, and pay a lot less (thank goodness) unlimited mods, agreed value etc etc. I even pay less than astina girl. (and considering my car will be valued at probably twice as much as hers, and I am in sydney - that is weird!!)lesson to all - buy highly modified V8's, and get cheaper insurance!!
