don't get me started with the RTA! they love their red tape!

The prices I quoted were for registering a new car, so the CTP price may be lower. My CTP cost is around $600!

I dont know what the brake down is but here in VIC the total price is around $550 and to renew your rego every year you do not have to get your car inspected or road worthied!

Rego and CTP is $634.95 for 12 months for me in QLD and you don't have to get the car inspected at all unless you let it run out of rego and no yearly fee for personalised plates either.

Guys,

Here's a thought - Try an Insurance 'Broker'...

I was using one until recently when GIO came in cheaper as they added a few extra bonuses and stuff (stuffed if I know what exactly but they 'bought' my business I guess)...

Broker was always cheaper for me from 18yo until about 25... :)

Give someone like that a go!

Check and make sure they are a member of a group such as Elders, Westfarmers, IAG, etc... and you will be fine... when it comes time to claim its back with the parent company as far as the panel/repairer is concerned....

Hey Again Guys.

I know this is probably covered in the insurance post, but after looking through a number of the 65 pages it was hard to find a definitive answer because alot of the posts were based on quotes on cars before mods.

do you guys tell the insurance company about your mods, or do you risk it and not tell them at all? there are a few mods that I want to get but I know would void my insurance. eg exhaust, intercooler etc. although alot of you guys have them and im sure you dont all drive around without insurance.

this is such a tricky subject and it confuses me thinking about how people get around it, so I thought I would just ask.

thanks in advance

I am with shannons, I have fully disclosed my mods and both off us are happy.

Insurance companies will weasel out of paying when ever they can and undisclosed mods will give them an easy out.

Yep same as 72, my insurance company knows about all my modifications and are happy to cover them.

I'm with Just Car.
