FG XR6 - NO turbo

21, $1300.00 - 10% = $1170.00 Pa AAMI

I got 10% discount on top of my NCB for doing a free driving course organised by AAMI - This is free to all Aami members under 25 and will give you a 10% discount.

My Hilux (Model - RZN149R) 2004 single cab chassi with Aami is just about the same cost Pa and it is only worth $10,800.00

AAMI only has one year though new for old replacement..Everyone else is 2 years. They were $750 for me

RACQ I rang and said $1000.Ute delivered they said $1800..WTF..nothing changed

NRMA was $1350....Now they have that gay ad on about they can beat anyone..

I went with Suncorp for $970.Worth the extra money over AAMI for the 2 year replacement

you guys are aware how aami is to deal with which is why you get insuramnce in the first place right..I dont know where you are but to my knowledge vehicle is dropped off or towed to there inspection station where they asses it and then beaters turn up there to bid on the repair and cheapest guy wins .. you then recollect your vehicle from aami when done.. doesn't sound like what id want unless it was just some work hack ute..

If I am wrong feel free to correct but this is what happened to one of my brothers cars .. no choice of repairer offered

cheers utemad

nah your spot on mate. mums car was in a prang and most ppl that seen the car said write off, which is what I was pushing for but then they turned around n fixed it. I went through the car after it was repaired and picked every minor issue and made them fix it. but that is exactly what they do. not the best option in my eyes, pricks will cut corners and put u and your family members at risk just 2 make a buck.

That's their valet service, if you want you can get quotes yourself (from a list of preferred repairers) and be allot more involved in the process.

Had three not-at-fault claims through AAMI, one was using the valet service (but you still know where they send it so can keep an eye on it and speak with the workshop as well) and couldn't be happier with the outcome from all the repairs. Few issues that needed rectifying but was far from a drama.

Good to hear Tab. RAC just sent a new offer for insurance...

Paid 1500 for the last years worth. Was 24 when I signed last Aug.

Car is used part business (on road professional I guess is the category). Now at 25yo this year they want $193.26 a month...that's $2319 pa.

AAMI quote online was 1350 odd once the car is actually up for renewal next Aug!

What's the go with Valet service...is that something you choose when you sign up? Or is it done over the phone at the time of a prang?

Your choice at the 'time of prang'.

To be frank about their list of preferred repairers, if your choice of panel shop isn't on the list you'd probably be best to avoid them anyway. It's pretty farkin extensive.

At the end of the day you’ve got to go with whatever you feel most comfortable with, but just thought I’d clarify a few misconceptions as I’ve never had a problem with them so see no reason to change. No such thing as a free lunch, so if the two-year new car replacement option is important to you then I guess you just have to pay extra for the privilege.
