Especially for a 'sports' vehicle like an FPV

Cancellation fee is a bit high, but the product is pretty straight forward. My concern would obviously be at claim time. Do they have enough staff to chase up repairers, support you when another insurer is putting you at fault and you are disputing the claim... all kinds of things would be a worry. That said, $480 is a bloody good price for your car. Could be worth the risk?I tried getting a quote for my car, but they wouldn't insure me because I had suspension lowered more than 20mm (which would cover about 70% of the cars on this site!) They tell me it'll drop after 26, new rules blah blah. This is with a 10% new car discount and 2.5% for being a std RAC member. Might look at refinancing with them for a nice package deal as the lady on the phone suggested All in all I'm happy for now, although I'd love to get it under a grand like some of you here! lukus Member 27 Member For: 16y 3m 6d Posted 29/08/08 10:40 AM Share Posted 29/08/08 10:40 AM Mondie, I want the turbo, I love fast cars, and XR6T is perfect for us, family car, fast enough, I like manual but my wife doesn't, so the SSS is perfect. We were looking at the Subaru Libery B4, but it was too expensive, not as big as the XR, and the fact that even in sportshift mode if you go over a certain amount of rev's it changes gears for you.NRMA was the cheapest I could find.Just cars quoted me around $12,500, AAMI won't insure anyone with a Turbo that is under 25, GIO doesn't want to know me either.I don't know of any other insurance agencies to try, if you can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it.I was previously insured with NRMA for my 1.6L 4cyl 2000 Pulsar. Cost me $2500 a year for it, but when it got stolen they quoted me $5800 to re-insure it if I got the same model car again.I don't know how they work out their pricing structure, because when I asked how much to insure the Libery B4 twin turbo 2.0L, they quoted me $4800.Edit: Ford Insurance just gave me a quote of $4182.Not a big improvment, but every little bit helps. Hi Cro,This was one of my hurdles and everyone said it would be the thing to break me; Insurance. However I just paid $650 for full comp on my 2003 BA XR6T and I'm 20 from Vic. How? quite easy, I went online to AAMI labled my father as the main driver as he is Rating 1 for Life and then add myself as an additional driver (which adds no extra cost). The car is still registered in my name, so really all you have to do is that. Hope that's of some help to you.p.s. use the online thing, never call them up because aslong as their system online accepts it then your covered 9/10 if you call them they will either find some way to bump it up or reject you.Cheers,Lukus

I can 99% gaurantee that, should an 'at fault' claim arise with you behind the wheel, they will be asking a great deal of questions. As the vehicle is in your name, they will have no hesitation to scrutinise your claim to endth degree and suggest that you have breeched their 'disclosure' clause. This means that you have not disclosed all details that you would have reasonably been aware of.How do I know this, 'In my time as an AAMI claim consultant, I have denied many claims, successfully.
