I'll be 20 next saturday, and have owned a ba xr6t making 240rwkw for almost a year. I'm insured with just car insurance and costs around 2400 per annum. I live in qld and just car are the only ones who will insure me (young driver with high powered / modded car).

there's my 2c worth

How many of you state on your insurance that the car is modded?

I have the chance to save a lot of money with a particular company but they state that the car must not be modified. But I could get away with a sports kit or exhaust.

Has anyone ever got into trouble for this?

I have Andrews old car (SCRIBER). Which has a custom tune.

Quick replys would be great. I would like to get this insured asap.

mate as I said in the PM, I would tell them all the mods it has.

I'll give you a full list if you want.

It might save you money, but insurance is only a waste of money when you don't use it... if you get my drift!

p.s take care of the old girl :verysad:

I agree with you SCRIBR... Best to be honest, might save you some cash in the short term to say its standard but could cost you in the long run. I have a few friends in the insurance industry and they (insurance companies) do whatever they can to avoid paying out.

BTW Im 24, they know about all my mods and $1100 with Just Cars, when im 25 im going with Shannons, same price but no vehicle excess!

Just my 2c

I couldn't agree more. It is worth every cent when you need it, cause you never know whats around every corner. It's a lot of money but the added security of knowing that your pride and joy is safe is worth more to me personally. Cause if you have a claim and the insurance details aren't complete, they won't pay a cent and cancel your cover.
