Guest redgum Guests Posted 27/11/05 08:44 AM Share Posted 27/11/05 08:44 AM (edited) Figure this:Insurance risk low: demonstrated 65% Lifetime No Claim Bonus low risk age group low risk post code no mods 2 demerits in last 5 years, never lost license no insurance claims for more than 10 years no insurance ever refused no bankruptcy or criminal record no finance car not for business use etc etcBut quoted insurance was approximately: AAMI $1800 Suncorp $1400 QEB $ 900 NRMA $ 850 NRMA $ 550The second NRMA quote was for the market value. As they have a new for old on the market value for cars under 2 years old it made agreed value is cheaper and gives better cover (my thanks to a very helpful lady from NRMA).The one I can't figure is AAMI?????? They even put this in writing even after I said not to bother 'cause they were far too expensive. What's even more wierd is my old EL XR6 cost $640 to insure with the NRMA and AAMI quote the same on that one. My renewal this year came in at $599 for a stock BA11 turbo which I thought was fairly good, so I contacted the insurance company for car enthusiasts and they came back with a figure for $2000 plus dollars! So if and when your policies are due make sure you all get new quotes or you might just be getting shafted! that's also on a full no-claim and rating 1. I'm 27, rating 1, no claims and no accident history...I am with Just Car Insurance and tried initially to get it through AAMI and they won't insure a T with anyone under 30... RACV was too expensive and Shannons who my HSV was with weren't really interested in insuring my car, not exclusive enough the guy on the phone told me... WTF?!?!?Only a couple more years to go till I'm 30...Jack

They have a flexi-premium excess which can reduce the premium by up to 50% if you pay an extra excess.I have had no accidents and believe I am a good driver so that works great for me. I can reduce the premium to $351 a year (nice number too!) if I pay an extra $1500 if I have an accident, that sounds great to me, especially when the car is parked more than it's driven!Rob.
