I am with CGU, and Shannons. CGU didnt want to know me with the ute once I told them about the mods.

Shannons didnt have a problem, and I only insure with limited use, as its only a weekend toy. $625 year.

I couldnt be bothered looking anywhere else, but probably could do better. It is easier for me to stick with Shannons, as

I pay quarterly, and have 2 other vehicles with them.

CGU maybe loosing my other business though.

About $1000 p/a with AAMI (NSW) for a BA mk2 XR6T ute with $24,000 agreed value.

NRMA were $2500 and most others were either that or didn't want to know me (I'm 23).

Not sure what the deal is if I need to make a claim and there are mods to it though... nothing crazy, just DBA4000 rotors and some new wheels, and perhaps an edit. Any thoughts on the usual deal with mods?

would any one know whih insurance agency would be cheapest for someone with a licence disqualification on their record?

For anyone else that fits in this category(like meblush.gif ), I rung around & found the following(based on 37yo Male, rating 1 & living in Metro Sydney, based on standard excess of around $600, XR6T BA Mk2):

Real, QBE, Shannons & Youi won't insure anyone with a prior disqualified license.

Bingle, NRMA, GIO, Budget , Ozicare between $1300-$1600

Allianz won't insure unless you have an alarm....strange!

Just Car..$2855...Rip-off.

AAMI $1115 on std excess($645), but I got it down to $703 with a $2100 excess.

So I would say under these circumstances, they were the best by a country mile clap.gif

09 XR6T ute with a guaranteed value of $36700-

$450- pa with AAMI

Prices varied up to $950-pa

My business broker who has over $8,000- pa in premiums already, could only offer $850-pa.

Sometimes it pays to be 50 year old.

Cheers

Hmm.. I paid 1000 about 3 months ago, 23 yo, 06 bf T, through aami..

This is with automatic rating 1 due to my parents being rating 1's. 10% discount for doing it over the net and a further 10% discount for completing their defensive driving course back when I was 18 (which is free by the way)..

I have a 2500 excess though.. Anyone able to get a low excess?
