Hey guys well every time I hear a noise in my car now with the power im pushing I alwasy think "sht my motor" and im sick of being paranoid about it, so I tought fck it ill just build the thing and get it done and over with before I brake it.

So im just asking what some of you guys with bult motors have done, e.g what path did you take

1. buy a built motor e.g atomic/nizpro.

2. what I was thinking and most likely going to do is, use my block and buy my own pistons, conrods, oild pump gears etc

3. or even just put a phoon motor in.

Im already striking out number one as my ideal budget is 3-5g's, so with my option 2 who makes rods/conrods for our cars that are willing to sell them as a kit with out the whole motor? and who makes after market oil pump gears?

Any info, suggestion, tips would great.

Cheers

Michael.

I vote for Atomic. Alot of people bag them for some reason, but if they are put together right (yes you can do it wrong) they are fine. My car is holding 18psi and loving it at the moment! Alot of people have commented that it is alot quieter than what they expect for a forged motor.

From memory at the last powercruise in QLD 4 out of the top 5 Forced Induction 6cyl champs were BA/BFs with Atomic motors. that's a good indicator of the performance.

I think the best way is to rebuild, cheaper than buying a new block, plus if you break the stock bottom end you can end up doing damage to the head and oil pump

Any one of the 3 you mentioned should be fine mate but if your wanting more than 400rwkw's than go for option 1 or even 2.

hahaha I know what you mean about those noises. but worry not!!! you have a good tune with good bits it wont let go anytime soon and if it does, meh its only going to get better.

I know I wont build my engine until it goes KABLAMO which might tomorrow or might be next year lol. I am happy with current power and if I want to push that 400 mark then I will consider it.
