Exactly what me and the missus did. We had savings but nothing near what we wanted, but with the 14k first home buyers grant, no stamp duty, low house prices and we were able to get past mortgage insurance....how can you say no to that!

I put up with an old (but hugely reliable) 94 v6 camry while I saved, and two years ago purchased a house. The equity just bought me an 07 BF2 Turbo :D

Worth waiting for. Oh, and I'm 25 and married.

So, yes, young, but spent all my money on a house, which then bought me the car.

Stamp duty exemptions for first-home buyers in NSW... if only we got that in Vic :spoton:

We should change the bit at the bottom of our number plates to be "The Place to Be - if you like paying Tax!"

23yo.

F6 - fully owned.

700k house, mortgaged.

Things change fast when things go crazy, it doesn't take long to be in a hole thinking 'it will never happen' to then think 'wow, why don't more people do this?'...

For those of you with a mortgage on both house and T, why dont you try to refinance to consolidate or get a Line of Credit. At least with both types of loans you can explore the low interest rates at the moment.
