I think the next 6 months are when the great buys are to be found. There are currently more people selling their properties than there are buying. Plus interest rates are at record lows and still to fall. I reckon the standard variable interest rate will drop to 5% by Easter. You'll get the toy0 you want, and I know how tempting an XR6T is. Better to set yourself up financially and then buy your XR6T - you'll appreciate and enjoy it so much more.

My money is on at least 4% by March '09.It's amazing how much interest rates effect incomes. My partner just finished up work as we're having another baby in Feb, so we're down an income, but I rang my bank the other day to reduce my mortgage payments down to the latest interest rate and it dropped over $600 a month! Crazy stuff. If you've already got a mortgage, at around the start of the second quarter of next year, shop around for the best interest rate (it'll probably be the Commonwealth) and move your money there and fix it for as long as you can. You'll save a bucket load of caaaash. :sniffle:

Marky Mark Member 3 Member For: 15y 11m 8d Gender: Male Location: Adelaide Posted 21/12/08 07:25 PM Share Posted 21/12/08 07:25 PM (edited) This is a great topic guys - I had a beaut XR6 Turbo in Blueprint (my fave) a couple years back but then got silly and got married and bought a house and couldnt afford both the car and the house. I'm 31 (ripe old age) and have now been around the block a few times so to speak and for those young blokes out there thinking of offloading their cherished Turbo in lieu of a house - DON'T DO IT! - you will be miserable every time you see one drive past you while youre sitting at the traffic lights in your 'sensible family car'. I'm currently in the market now for getting myself another XR6T in Blueprint or Shockwave as I've finally got my finances sorted after years of struggling. Please let me know if anyone hears of any nice, but not too expensive ones going around in Adelaide or elsewhere.P.S. (wife has demanded I put on here that it was my choice to sell the car and wasn't forced to - she loved the car too Edited 21/12/08 07:30 PM by Marky Mark

I do hate playing the waiting game! at 22, I can afford to take risks so im unsure how to play the next couple of yrs - but there will probably be a couple of both steady, and speculative decisions in property and/or stock.Venom
