I prefer the model planes over the real thing personally....my husband also used to fly model planes, but now spends too much time in the shed...so all his planes are being neglected and collecting dust. I would love for him to some day bring them out again or maybe even join a club..but I don't see that happening

I recently decided to try out something different in the RC world:After hours and hours of trainer time, 15 battery packs of flying time and 3 set of main rotor blades i can finally hover for about 20 seconds and maintian my heading and position.I have never ever had a hobby that was so incredibly frustrating and rewarding at the same time!! It's a sh*tload of fun but it takes more than SMS trained thumbs to do anything as you mentioned

You have to constantly adjust the controls to get the fircking thing to stay and one spot and the adjustments as so small you can barely make out the movements on the Transmitter. I guess after time it becomes second nature

Great hobby. He was importing them for a while but gave that away.He was also the australian champ in choppers for a few years, back in the 90's

(I know a few).Sure are a few young fathers on here too, hehe. Guess it's better to get that out the way when you're in your early 20s.
