Sold kellyville 15 years ago and moves to an acre in kenthurst . Kellyville was good once to live way back then when there were mainly market gardens and decent sized land. Saw the writing on the wall and moved.

be interesting to see how honest people are..... many here are in their early twenties and post that they have a 300+K mortgage and own at least a car or two outright..... how many of these own it outright because they put into their mortgage??????

I cant see too many people in their early twenties saving more then $50K to buy a couple of cars outright and then saving at least a 10- 20% ($30-60K) deposit for a home.... seems very excessive (not to say it cant be done) for someone in their early twenties... especially if they went through uni and got out when they were in their early twenties.

to those that have..... well done

Jet,

Is 28 mid twenties? I started my apprenticeship at 17 finished my time at 21 and then started working away from home. longest stints away where 7 weeks. I wish i was smarter with my money back then. Fortunatly i bought two properties here in perth pre boom and that has really set myself (and a lot of other people over here) up. I don't have a lot of $'s to throw around these days but i do have my toys and and my wife and i have been fortunate enough to be able to build our dream home at a relativly young age.

What gets my goat is young people (19 to 25 yr olds) who cry poor but aren't prepare to step out of there comfort zone and put in the hard yards to get ahead.

Hey,

I turned 20 a couple months ago and im a proud owner of a Xr6t. Never buy a non-turbo car ever again. I dont think ill be doing any mods to it because it will be hard to sell and will lose alot of money instead probably upgrade to a newer car.

Student and casual work.

XR2DI4 <----- NOt yet lol

Parents bought me a BA xr6t when I was 18, I traded it in for a BF2 t and had like a 17k loan.

it's down to 8k after a year and a half lol.

20 years old now and I live with my parents, plus I pay board. Living life quiet easily, I'm planning to pay off the car asap now that I'm finished modding it. Before I'm 21 at least then I'll be going for a house.

22, renting and have been since the week after I finished school.

Borrowed money off the olds for my T and paying them back each and every week (strict bankloan style, never miss a payment).

Also paying back $11,000 of my $22,000 uni fees :spoton: (they went halvies with me) each and every week.

Managed to buy my Mrs. an '02 Hyundai Getz earlier this year. Paid cash.

Money for mods comes from saying NO to going out with mates sometimes, missing the odd concert or event and passing on a lot of cruising to save fuel $. :P

Broke most of the time but it's because I'm choosing to have fun with my money at the moment, so I don't complain.

The time to get serious will come soon enough I'm sure and me and the "leader of the opposition" have about $4k saved so far. On our way to a house deposit.

I live @ home and have a loan on my T. Considering renting a place with the missus soon or just going all out on a house. However she cannot work atm so that would leave us on my salary alone and it could cover the costs of house+t+bills, but im not sure about the other little luxuries I wouldn't want to live without.

I do pay $150 a week rent @ home though :P
