lol

It is not fair for the site's existing advertisers that pay for a presence on here for a business of any nature to benefit without contributing. Like always your opinions are valued, but the rules are there for the wellbeing of the site and overall benefit of every single one of you - and we are here to enforce those rules.

I don’t think everyone realises the effort required to keep this place from turning in to a free-for-all billboard. And in effect if we are doing our jobs properly then you wouldn’t notice.

Regardless I think this has all been blown out of proportion, Smicky was innocent in trying to help another member and he just received a gentle reminder as to what the policy is. Not sure what all the fuss is about. :innocent:

In an ideal world we wouldn’t have to rely on having any advertisers, but the money coming in from the kind-hearted donating members is nowhere near enough to pay for all the costs of hosting/licensing/upgrades/enhancements etc. without us relying on selling ‘advertising space’

Thanks guys for the comments and support. :pinch:

Tabs/Dags, both myself and 'Da Gurly' (not only taking up half my garage however also is quickly becoming my - marcos manager as that's what she does for a living also hehehe) have both looked and talked about a banner with the forum (hence also the other reason I mentioned about donating last week in the website issues thread), however the "Advitise" link at the top looks to be a dead like also.

Can someone please send us some info regarding banner adds etc for the forum, which we will have a look over and see if it fits into the budget for this 1/4 (or next) for marketing. If unrelated "non car" advitising/banners are of interest. :idunno:

Just an additional note to other comments by members regarding MSY...

At no stage have I said "DO NOT BUY FROM MSY" that's not the case... Yes they have some 'resonable' priced items of which in 'some' cases other retailers are same of cheaper... (leave it at that)...

However having spent 10 yrs in the IT industry in Australia and assisting with launching many vendors into the Aussie market over the years, assisting with the incorporation of IT gear into many retailers with the likes of Good Guys, JB Hifi, Officeworks, etc. as well as supplying such companies as Harvey Norman, Optus, Vodafone etc... :blaah: I can say in a number of cases with some previous companies (distys I had been working with in Sales Management and Product Group Management levels) we found MSY to be one of our problem clients/resellers... While reseller service, tech support and method of sales processes are not controlled by us as the disty however the resellers as its their business, the companies (while working there) had evidence that many of the products MSY sell were "Grey Imported"... Assume this still happens, however may not I no longer know...

This "may" become an issue with warranty, if seeking support direct from the vendor rather then MSY...

Yes MSY are known as one of the 'cheaper' resellers in Australia, hence I guess the level of service or lack there of...

Good to hear that forum members have been happy with MSY... and managed to save some $$$ on their gear!

Don't wish to cause any further 'bad karma' or neg posts, so I will leave my comments on the thread at that and move on from this one!

:yes-sir:
