I got pulled in there last nite! Was earlier in the night! Say bout 11 or so! Thought I was in for a treat! Cops just looked at my plates/rego, license, breatho, checked my back tyres! Then yeah he left me standing there wondering if I could go or not cause he went off to check some bikes. Sounds like u got them when they were in a bad mood mika! hopefully not too much is needed for you to get rid of your golden award!

After a whole night of dealing with smartarses and big mouth hero's I reckon I'd be in a pretty ordinary mood as well....

Mika, have a read of this about Ground Clearances on cars. Its from the VicRoads site.

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyre...8340/0/VSI8.pdf

I did the whole Chaple St thing 10 years ago and all I can say is stay away if you dont want trouble from the cops.

Mika just take the car to vic roads how it is mate, you have a 50/50 chance that wont come out.And if they do and its too low they just tell you to try again, no harm done.

Your car will pass man trust me.

I know the dromana vicraods are pretty slack! I been down there a couple times for canary clearance and they usually don't bother coming out or don't know what they looking at half the time!

I was there around that time last night Mika! Went to a club called White Charlie and left just before 2am. I saw they were detouring cars off chapel and into the safeway carpark as they saw fit, dodgy as...there was one cop on a power trip, my mrs had one drink and just to be sure she asked to get breathtested and he was such a dick about it, he basically said "I'm not going to breath test you now and if you get in that car and drive off we'll pull you up down the road for RBT" blah blah f*ck off wa*ker, that's what you get for doing the right thing.

Anyway back on topic, im pretty sure that the car has to be a minimum of 100mm off the ground when NO ONE is in the car, not with a full car load, take it somewhere and get it measured with no one in the car, if it passes take it up further, I was in the same situation as you one night, I ended up taking to to my machanic and he passed it and wrote on the roadworthy that was legal and shouldnt of been defected, took it to vic roads got the canary taken off then wrote a letter to the police with a copy of my RWC, they reimbursed me in full haha.

Well I got no fine and no yellow sticker so I was lucky in a way I guess..

As PURVIE said, they were detouring cars off Chapel st, into the carpark.. The only cars that were there were 'done up' and the cops that I spoke too were, straight on the offencive when I questiond him, so he probably was in a bad mood.
