Yep. I've done it and posted dyno graphs also.

Can't remember where it is on this forum and can't be bothered looking for them but I gained 11rwkW by fitting the lower section and snorkel.

In 34 degree ambient temps too. As per sig.

answer in short is that you dont need a tune after fitting, and im thinking that the 11kw gain wound have been worked out when tuning/on dyno

hope that helps :B):

No tuning required.

I did three power runs with the standard airbox and then four with the larger box and snorkel.

I then switched back to the standard airbox and snorkel for another three runs to verify everything.

No tuning was done at all and the gap between running with the original box and the larger box was about five minutes.

Basically as long as it took me to change the lower half of the box and fit the bigger snorkel.

My car still remains untuned to this day.

Just fitted the XR8 lower box and snorkel to my XR6T... Clearance seems fine, but I will keep an eye on it.. I had to grind quite a bit from the opening of the snorkel to get the bonet to close.. Another thing, that plastic screw that holds the snorkel on....it does not seem to tighten up very well. I test drove the car, and it feels good ! A good mod for $165.00

If you haven't already you will need to mould the snorkel where it gets close to the drive belt.

It may look ok just sitting there but when you drive your car and load up the engine it will torque over and the belt will make contact with the snorkel.

Check out post #10 and #19 of this thread.

The plastic screw your referring to is a scrivet. It doesn't actually tighten up it just pushes into the base part of it and spreads some knobs out.

All scrivets are good for is locating things.

Quite odd you had to grind more material off to get it to fit properly. Another thing that you need to do is move the rubber seal on the top of the bonnet back approx 15-20mm. All I did was drill a couple of new holes for the plastic retaining plugs and moved it.

Thanks for that.. I will mould the snorkel to clear the belt. Have you posted pics of the upper rubber seal ??? I would like to see some.
