Benny Member 1,869 Member For: 21y 8m 13d Gender: Male Location: Newcastle Posted 18/11/08 01:19 AM Share Posted 18/11/08 01:19 AM Guys,What Phantmxr6 is saying about the belt chopping out the snorkle has happened on my car. I had to recently use a heat gun to re-mold the snorkle to make more clearance. I'll post some pics of the damage to the snorkle from the belt soon.Benny Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/51033-v8-airbox-lower-and-cai-pipe-fitted-into-f6/page/2/#findComment-770049 Share on other sites

It was touching the heater pipe that came out of the thermostat housing. Benny Member 1,869 Member For: 21y 8m 13d Gender: Male Location: Newcastle Posted 18/11/08 09:18 AM Share Posted 18/11/08 09:18 AM Ok here are some pics. Not saying that this will happen to all cars with this snorkle but is definately something to keep a close eye on.Benny Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/51033-v8-airbox-lower-and-cai-pipe-fitted-into-f6/page/2/#findComment-770384 Share on other sites

I'm not going mad.Yours is in the exact same spot as mine. I think I might have caught mine a bit earlier than you though judging by your pics.Mine looks a bit ugly due to having to mould it back in slightly for clearance. It's not as pliable as it looks either. My only concern now is where it rubs on the cold side of the intercooler tube running up to the throttle body.I'm thinking of putting some soft foam or some other material in between the snorkel and the tube to try and minimise chaff.
