That is so far from the truth its not funny clowdnes was chasing big bucks and Expensive Daewoo werent prepare to pay but Ford was.

I'm not sure about the cat fight, but I do know it had more to do with Sakife ensuring Lownds was pushed aside because he was stealing his limelight than money. Skaife was instrumental in ensuring Lownds was provided with the 2nd string car, and excluding Lownds from team meetings. Ford was after fresh drivers (of course they targeted Holden's No1 at the time), Lownds took the opportunity when the head of HRT told him tough sh*t when he complained about the situation they were in. If it weren't for Sakife's tanties, and arrogance, Lownds wouldn't have consdered the Ford offer.

I've followed him since the GTR days. I guess it started cos I was like 5 & you always want to support the person that was winning. At the end of the day so what if he was arrogant. I'm sure mnay of the people on here would refuse to sign an autograph or walk off on someone minutes before a big race when you are trying to concentrate on what you are paid to do which is drive fast.

I've seen Todd Kelly walk away from a Kid with a broken leg on a saturday after qualifying with a sh*t time. The next morning me and a mate had a chat to him for about 15 minutes. You have to understand these guys have a lot of pressure on them & at times they let the PR stuff slide because they are having a sh*t of a day.

I used to follow him up until he fronted the Expensive Daewoo adverts after moving to HRT. He stated that rear wheel drive is the mark of a true perfrmance car. Here's this tool who cam to prominence by decimating the opposition in and AWD (so much so it was banned), then because he drives for Expensive Daewoo now, he changes his tune. The whole campaign was build around the fact that he used to drive the GTR, and implied that he went to Expensive Daewoo because they're better.

From then on he was nothing but a whiney little tool. He was always the loudest voice whenever Expensive Daewoo wanted rule changes for their favour, but the icing on the cake was during an episode of V8 Superstars, Russell Ingal (driving for Perkins at the time) said to Sakife that it was obvious during the last wet race, that Sakife was running illegal traction control (through the car's ECU, virtually untraceable). Skaife was so arrogant (because he was dominating the series at the time) he didn't deny it, he simply shrugged his shoulders and said with a smirk, "You're just jealous you can't get away with it."

Ingall went off and righty said that not only does HRT get away with it, but if any other team said what Sakife did, they'd be banned for the rest of the year.

Sure, all race competitors would have an arrogant streak, ego is a big part of sucess, but Sakife takes it too far and deserves as much respect as he shows others.

Rather satisfying to see my three favourite bitching and moaning Expensive Daewoo drivers doing what they do best last night, and poor old shnozza parked-up quite early in the piece

And we are still using a older chassis, suppose snoozers decission is the right one as he is even going to do worst once the new falcon hits the track.

Cant get away with cheating anymore so he retires.

at least he knows when to retire, not like seton and nameless others who kept flogging a dead horse (and themselves) and I seem to remember winterbottom being disqualified for "irregular timing" not too long ago, is not following the rules not cheating?

Winterbottom's issue was a little more complicted than that. Also, Seaton and many of the others you imply are a bit older than Skaife, and they were still competative well paqst 41. Look and Ingall, the oldest on the track, yet the highest placed Holden.

This weekend's racing really highlighted Skaife's lousy attitude. When Winterbottom hit Tander, Skaife ran to the FPV pit tapping his head saying that they'd better teach their crazy driver to calm down a bit. The bst thing was when Skaife did exactly the same thing to Tander in the same spot on the track in race 3. He then went on to say he couldn't stop because he was on the dirty line, then shrugged. WHAT A TOOL!
