I pay less than $250 labour each time my friendly Ford dealer drops my cradle - has been out twice now to first do side bushes, then out again last week for control arm and center bush.

I don't think it actually takes that long when you know what you're doing.

going to do this tomorrow,

How much pressure is the spring under on the front of an FG? I will have access to a spring compressor but this is my only real concern. Does it need to be compressed alot?

Thanks.

Its got a bit behind it blOke so be cautious

Get the compressors evenly 180o from each other and take them down until it feels quite firm

Then u can release the top nut and then un wind the compressors evenly

Job basically done

Just fitted my new shocks and springs front and rear with help from here, now to take it for a small test drive and make sure nothing flies through the bonnet or hits the road at the rear!

Great success on my BFII!

The key to fitting rear springs is slowly jacking, as per diagram below showing resultant strut extension.

By the way don't let the brake lines get tight. I'm holding the caliper in this pic and it is not as tight as it may appear (that's what she said).
