Posted 23/10/08 08:05 AM Share Posted 23/10/08 08:05 AM Get the Aluminum plenum cleaned up really well, then give it a quick dip in caustic soda (sugar soap), hose off clean then, spay liberally with...windex.the ammonia in the windex reacts with the aluminum and forms a good looking lasting protective surface.I did this on my L28 intake.cheaper and easier than a s/steel plenum if your after a nice look. It's heavy, hard to cut and drill, expensive, high coefficient of expansion. The only thing it has going for it is that it's slighty easier to weld than aluminium. My choice would be aluminium any day. What exactly are you trying to achieve by doing this?
