Hey blokes, I've had my car (BA MKII XR6T with growler air intake and generic 14psi flash tune) for 2 years now, haven't had any real problems, just need to replace spark plugs every now and then when she's running a bit rough. However, I overtook a truck yesterday and the second I came off the throttle the car turned off!!!! No big drama, I was going fast enough to get off the road safely etc... But I have no idea why it did it, as soon as I pulled over and turned the ignition off and tried it again it restarted and hasn't missed a beat, anyone else had this??

Hey mate and :crybaby:

Here we tend not to run generic tunes as a permanent means, and I would say it has something to do with your tune. Best bet would be to get it on the dyno and check AFR's, boost levels, etc. The only thing I can think of is you hit boost cut and the car stalled, again all can be determined on a dyno run. I strongly suggest getting your car custom tuned.

Admittedly I haven't even looked at the flash since I put it in, it may be 10 psi, not 14... I understand you blokes don't like the generic tunes, but I've had this one for over a year now and it's never missed a beat, do you still think it's the tune?

Yea I think its more than likely the tune, as 03XR6T said check it on the dyno just to be sure. Although you may have been running this generic for a while, members on here have run generic tunes for quite some time then all of a sudden BANG its all over. Its cheap insurance mate and better to be safe than sorry.
