Well now that the dust has settled, and as expected, "Barry" HAS been officially written off by the insurance company, the young fella involved happen to get talking with my son at work, and on the quiet he has been telling him the REAL story.

Surprise, surprise! there was no fox, and before taking the left hand curve there was a slight turn to the right where he was going to fast and started to get the tail out, he then over corrected and spun the car 180degrees plus to the left and hit the left hand bank in reverse, Basically that flippedd it onto the bonnet where it still had enough speed to drag on down the road a fair bit.

When all came to a rest he said he was in panic mode because he couldnt get the door open enough to get out, but after kicking the crapp out of the door card, he eventually got it open.

Its interesting how the car balanced on the bonnet and screen, yet never hardly touched the cabin area, roof or doors, all damage was front and rear.

Thanks for your eulogy Al. We shall remember "Barry" at his best.

pfft. tmac stop verbally bashing p platers. most crashes on the news that p platers are involved in are because their going 150 km/h and loose control. Acceleration and power of a car has absolutely nothing to do with it.. their getting up to the speed of 150 km/h then crashing. not crashing because of how fast they get there.

You are a fool!

Firstly, go back and read what I said properly, secondly, you are in desperate need of some proper driver education (not to mention a basic physics lesson).

I'm a P plater and have an 07 XR6T (it's not illegal for me to own one in WA, the laws haven't come out yet). Yes, I'm fairly in-experienced when it comes to driving, however, that does not mean that I do not respect the power these cars have. Driving is a privilege, not a right, and these cars have to be given a lot of respect when it comes to their power and acceleration. I'm not going to lie, driving a Turbo during the wet can be a scary experience, when the roads are wet I drive like a bloody grandma. I've already had an accident with my first car, a '98 VT. I learned a lot from it and it woke me up to how dangerous driving can be if you're being stupid. Performance cars need respect, and shouldn't be driven by P platers or anybody trying to be a hero on the public roads.

face the facts. these laws are pointless. we still have geniuses driving turbo cars on their p plates. whether the government likes it or not. their just like speed limits. your sposed to go under them, but if you dont and dont get caught nothing happens. tbh, its tempting for me to do it with prices of t's down so much atm... a $350 fine and 3 points doesnt sound half bad.

these laws are NOT pointless. Go out onto a race track, have someone fairly experienced drive your car and then YOU try and get within a few seconds of his time. bet you spin it more times than you will wish to remember AND won't get anywhere near his time.

Better yet, drive around an old sh!tbox until you learn the track. Then jump into theT and try and go quick, you quickly realise that you need a real appreciation of the throttle inputs.

Having never met you I (along with everyone else posting in this thread) can tell that you are a real arrogant smart ar$e who thinks you are the next Lewis Hamilton!

Think before you open your mouth next time
