hmm fox it at least he didn't say dog that's a dead give away

where I grew up there were pleanty of roo's so you could always blame one of them

and if he really did swerve at speed that's more inexperience if I see something run on the road and I'm movin I would rather hit it and right off a bumper than end up lookin like that

Done the dog thing when I was young, ended up backed into an embankment after swapping ends in the wet, its easy to get caught out at any age.

Sorry to see it.

Is it my imagination, most photos of damaged and written off T's seem to be blueprint?

I'm certainly not knocking the "P" platers at all, in fact I know plenty of them that are not even slightly interested in speeding or racing, because they can see the BIG picture.

However its quite ironic that we had 2 absolute lunatics at work, and they both wrote off there cars in the last 2 weeks only 300m apart. The other was a young bloke with an SS Commodore, who was given his marching orders due to burnouts etc when leaving work. His response to being laid off was a nice big burnout up the road and 2 km later he was taking off from a stop sign (just pass where Barry was rolled) and fishtailed the SS up the road where he lost control and hit a large concrete power pole. This guy was regarded by his mates as the local "driftking"..................not any more!

I certainly was no angel when I was young, and was always getting booked for speeding, however, I think the difference was that I only had a 1300 Escort, so I obviously was'nt into burnouts nor did I have enough power to get into too much trouble.

Maybe we could start a confessions topic.........What did YOU do stupid when YOU were young?

Now that could be interesting Ha ha!

whats with all the P plate bashing? I work at a hospital and have seen maybe one p plater come in with motor vehicle accident related injuries n that's related to their mental state not driving capabilitys, compared to the amount of 30yr old and up that flock in day in day out. I <3 Bananas p plate rules, 312rwkw on my green ps and chasin more.

Exactly the 'buletproof' attitude that the rules are created for.

the p plate bashing is done with good reason - anyone driving a T on their Ps is intentionally breaking the law in most states (if not all? Need some clarification there).

Driving fast cars should be like doing an apprenticeship or uni degree - you don't earn the big bucks first up. You've gotta earn your stripes. The result is that you've got more experience and appreciate what you have so much more (in both cases).

oh and defensive driving courses FTW

im not saying im bulletproof, im saying that I no more older drivers that have accidents than younger drivers. say I have a accident today n I have a green p im a bad driver and need more experience, but tomorrow I get my full licence, roll my car n im just unlucky? well hey it wasn down to inexperience hes not on his ps. a p makes no difference your either a sh*t driver or your not. accidents happen, only reason it looks so bad is cuz no one is keeping statistics on full licence drivers. for every p plater that totals theres atleast 5 others on full licences.

ps im not breaking the law by owning a turbo car on my ps :banghead:

I didn't say you mentioned anything about the bulletproof attitude, but you arw certainly demonstrating it.

Also, no one here said there weren't bad older drivers.

However, if you took the time to think, rather than took a whiney, "What about me" attitude, you might just understand that we all start out as P platers, then progress from there. If we start out wrong (car too powerful, etc) then we're likely to carry the same errors through the years (in case you missed it, we all age and don't remain P platers for life). Introducing regulations (which are by no means enough at this stager) at the P plate leve is exactly what is needed.

Ideally all drivers should pass propper, tiered driver traning courses, but for now you just have to accept that driving is a priveledge, not a right!
