I was wondering if anyone has run a std fg xr6 turbo down the 1/4 mile.I have seen some articles were it states 13.5 at 172km but I think its a bit suspect.In this article its up against an ss dunnydoor with runs 13.9 at 166km. What I can not work out is from 0-160km the falcon is a whole second in front and 0-180km the falcon is almost 1.5 seconds in front.Were does the commordore make up time to close the gap to 4 tenths.Cheers Nick.

Ford claim the FG XR6 Turbo will do 0 - 100 = 5.2 secs

402m = 13.5 secs

Wheels Magazine claim 0 - 100 = 6.2 secs

402m = 14.3 secs

Drive.com and Carpoint claim 0 - 100 = 5.1 sec

80 - 120 = 3.1 secs

402m = 13.4 secs

Motor Magazine claims the same figures as Ford

* All figures quoted are for the sedan in auto form *

The variables are always going to be track surface, air temperature, fuel type, tyres, gearbox, the driver's ability and to a small degree the individual vehicle.

Um didn't Wheels do it in 5.1/13.3?

Yep just checked the May volume. 5.1 0-100 and a 13.3 quarter. that's under there usual standards with >half a tank of smelly stuff and 2POB. That time was also not run on a drag strip... it was just done with a VBOX on a straight part of the YouYangs circuit I think :cleanhouse:
