Hi guys.

I was messing around with the car last night (pre-warranty work) and I busted the breather pipe.

I've read up on the forums that some guys use oil breather filters. Are they a short term fix or safe to use in the long run? - If I use an oil breather filter... Do I just need to block of the hole in the cross over with a screw in stud?l_ea67de01e11f46a0b0d0ca37fdc9bacd.jpg

I had to drive home with it hanging the way it is in the pic above. Is that safe? I didnt notice anything out of the ordinary. But it was quite literally a one minute drive home.

I've still got to goto ford tomorrow ... Gee I love those guys :buttrock:

What is the purpose of an oil breather pipe?

Cheers,

Jarrod.

By driving it you chance something sucking into the motor, so block up the hole on the crossover. But your still going to need a small filter on the rocker cover outlet... you could use a small piece of foam and cable tie it around that pipe for the short drive.

just make sure non of the thread from the brocket piece can go into the motor, get it al out first.

dont bother asking ford for one. I did exactly the same thing and asked them, $80!!

go to a local tuner and see if they have any laying around, I got mine for a six pack :beerchug:

like rapid said, block the hole in the intake ASAP!

Cheers Chris,

I did a quick sticky tape job before I left home.

Got a new screw in rubber hose connector (to the cross over end) for 17 odd bucks.

Thanks guys.
