$600 a tyre that's just a bit rich 4 me the 17" look good anyway I thought.

As for going to a cheaper tyre I dont like the idea ,you drive a premium car ,put the best tyre you can on it ,its your own saftey in the hands of your tyres / brakes.

A mate of mine has a rx subaru with 17" tyres and buys the $150 cheapies, He went through 4 blowouts in 3 months as a resuilt. other mates in their Clubsports and GTS with 17" tyres using Bridgestone so2 never had any troubles except wearing the rear due to having fun.

A question when I was looking for my new wheels I looked at A SS but wanted 17" tyres to help save on maintance cost , was told you can't down size, size of tyre

that is released with the car as you won't get insurance is this so?

Speaking from experiance I can say that any 18" tyre that's under about $300 might grip ok in the dry but when it comes to wet weather performance then they lack grip badly. You get what you pay for most of the time but still shop around. I wouldn't put sp9000's on my car because I couldn't be happier with what I've got.

which is...?

Sorry was in a rush to get out of the office. 235/40/18 Bridgestone Pole Position So3. I've seen prices for these as high as $430ea. But I get them for a $330ea because I always buy them from the same dealer.

Unfortunately its the first thing every dealer will tel you "what you want Premium Brakes ahhh you will also need the 18's then ......"

Please don't tar all dealers with the same "every" brush. Mine didn't try this one.
