I had got my cat replaced a while ago and I also got the Center Muffler removed it sounds good but after giving it some stick it make a real rattly sound almost like a BERRRRRRRRRR when you rev or drive till the car cools down it sounds fine. I have had a look it looks all sealed up and it not hitting anything just when it gets hot any idea what is making it sound crap?

BTW if my mates Millers or B-rad post a joke on this post. there will be no ware on this planet to hide from me boys.

With my Rx2 I dont require a cat but I put one on to keep the po po happy. I also got a straight bit of pipe made up to remove the cat for racing and dynos, when I put the cat back in, when it gets hot it makes a cracking and some other funny noises as the cool air gets to it. Very embarrisng when you pull up and theres heaps of people around.

As for a solution, I am not sure as I can just remove mine but maybe try and use some heat wrap on it.

Just a sugestion, might not work but then again it might..

mate exact same thing happened to me when I got my centre muffler removed and a hi-flow cat turned out to be the rear muffler needed replacement as the insides started breaking up and rattling around in the muffler. Got a new muffler put on and problem solved!

is the cat an aftermarket item? like a metal cat or something similar??

could be the metal heat shielding that's attatched to the cat causing the noise. possibly loose.

or some loose heat shielding on the dump pipe and exhaust
