A few tips:

- discuss the topic; don’t preach

- loose the holier than thou attitude

- don’t have tantrums if someone’s opinion differs to yours

....otherwise I will feel obligated to continue taking the piss.

Finance is not a perfect science. Claiming that you are right and everyone else is wrong is myopic and stupid.

Oh yes, and where have I "preached"? I have merely stated what myself and others (central banks/fed/etc) are doing in the market.

NOTE: I CLEARLY SAID THAT WHAT I WROTE WAS MY OPINION - NOTHING MORE

Lose the holier than thou attitude? How about you learn to discuss something yourself without turning into a piss take and sarcastic rubbish conversation like you always do?

I never had a tanty mate, all I said was if you dont have the knowledge to understand, that's totally fine. I know not everyone knows what's going on, but I wont waste my time arguing with you or anyone else on that basis - end of story.

I, like most ppl in WA who have owned property over the last 5 years, have done well in real estate, and I am very happy and thankful for it.

I have no debt and being involved in oil & gas/mining, I can't say that I am struggling financially, again, thankful for the WA boom, just looking at all the different options to invest some savings...

Its very interesting to see all the different points of view and I'm sure there are a lot clever individuals on here, I see no reason why people's opinion on here is any less valuable than "some" financial experts, that work on commission, have targets to meet and may be in a very tight situation because of the current climate.

Please keep it going and don't discredit other people opinions because mine is bigger than yours... :spoton:

That statement right there is what pisses people off. What makes you think you do?

Experience, the place I am today, how I got there, and how I didn't listen to those who told me they knew best.

AND If you knew me, you wouldn't be asking that question :spoton:

HELLO...what the f*ck makes you think you know what everyone else's experience and knowledge consists of??? :spoton:

tab, I really don't want to continue arguing, but you totally missed the point.

I wasn't in any way shape or form questioning anyone elses experiences!! All my previous post was saying was that I trust what I think and I do, not what someone else thinks or does.

And just to ask you guys in general.. who here has made money out of this financial crisis? Im curious to see numbers.

That's a farked question. Not everybody watches their investments every day. In a lot of cases you simply can't. What the hell is the value of your property or your super RIGHT NOW? You do not know until you sell it/cash it in. I think the big issue now is that nobody knows where they stand, except it's likely they are worse off. How badly is TBD. How much worse it gets is TBD. And that sucks for everyone.

So back to the original topic, what's a good investment now? Depends on how much you have, how long you can do without it and how much you can afford to lose. I'm off to buy a lottery ticket....
