I believe that the BF platform got an upgrade from the BA throughout the range and I think this was more so on the rear of the car. (I might be wrong)My question is does anyone know if the XR6T & XR8 brakes on the BF were just a front upgrade or did they also upgrade the rears as well from the BF XR6 NA that I have? I know on the BA's the 'premium brake upgrade" was just the front calipers only, and the rears were left as standard single piston.I just don't kow if I need to buy front and rear calipers to match the BF XR6T or XR8 spec or if front only are required.Any help/advice would be great.Cheers Brett. Anyway the standard BF T brakes were also pretty ordinary so I went to the DBA 4000 and ferodo pads as alot of other members have also done.A very effective and not to pricey upgrade. Braided lines might also help.I.B. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/50416-ford-bf-factory-brake-upgrade/#findComment-745368 Share on other sites

Posted 06/10/08 02:24 AM Share Posted 06/10/08 02:24 AM the BA/BF XT and XR6 na along with the BA XR6t and XR8 all ran the single piston PBR caliper with a 303mm rotor for rears. The Fronts had twin piston and 298mm rotorsIts the BF xr6T and XR8 that had the large 328mm rotor single pistons for rears. The fronts had twin piston and 322mm Ive got coming up some FG XR6turbo calipers, rotors(328mm rotor will fit BA/BF) and pads coming up for sale soon. PM me if you interested. Although In saying that an upgrade in the fronts only should do you. How much power do you have in your BF XR6 anyways, could be too much surely unless you had it turbo'd Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/50416-ford-bf-factory-brake-upgrade/#findComment-745381 Share on other sites

If so does that mean I can just fit the larger rotor onto my single piston or will I have clearance issues?I know the front twin piston caliper was a little larger than my current twin piston.I am roughly putting out maybe 165rwKW, so no its not huge amounts of power at all. Does that mean I just need to upgrade to larger discs only and forget the caliper upgrade?
