Well, the "room" would need to be made, with some serious cutting, but can be done if your into that kind of thing.

Yes, the 4inch intake drops to 3inch at the mouth of the turbo, which has a 3inch inlet.

I'm trying to put together a package of modifications for my BF MKII XR6T that will provide an "easy" 350kw atw and potentially the ability to push the 400 mark.

At this stage, the modifications being considered are:

Flash box/tune

Stage 2 intercooler from PW, Plazmaman or the like, including under battery air intake

Seimens injectors (62 lbs I believe)

X force exhaust - 4 inch dump, 3.5 inch cat with twin 2.5inch system

Bosch 044 Fuel pump

12psi actuator and wastegate 'Flapper" mod.

These seem to be the standard upgrades when looking for the 330-350kw atw mark. However what can be done to push this into the higher 300's/low 400's? For example, is an upgrade intake plenum going to help me or is there something else out there?? And is this power possible on 15psi, or is this the power level where internal engine modifications become a necessity?

Most importantly the car must:

- Produce excellent torque (eg 4th of 5th gear pull at 60km/h should be effortless)

- Produce consistent power.

Thanks in advance.

I think you may come into trouble trying to crack a genuine 400KW on a stock bottom end,the way I see it is to make that sort of power you will have to run pre mentioned parts at the least & then you will need to run fair sort of boost & ignition to get that sort of power.BUT to be able to run 18-20 Psi & some fair ignition curve you would have to run some sort of exotic fuel & still worry about breaking a ringland or bend/throw a rod.If any sort of reilability is to be had I can't see any other way but to Build A bttom end (dropping comp, good rods & pistons Ect.Hate to crush your hopes but been there before.Better to do it right once than do it twice.Cheers DJP.

The 4 inch intake sounds like a good idea. Is there anyway to retain the factory battery position and have the larger intake?

u can but u need some pipework 2 suit. it will sit comfortably in front of the pwr steer fluid cont.

this is where this forum comes in handy.

many others have proven the formule for certain hp outputs, in the past its been try this spend that and see what you get but the new comer to the xr6 turbo need only read up on here on what works and dosnt and save big $$ in the process.

many of the suggested setpus will give the power your after and imo sitcking with rapid and his advice will see you in the right direction.

hay rapid has any one tried to use a 4.5" or 5" pipe under batt. I ment use a 5" pipe but squash it so it is 3"high and X"wide kind of like the old ef/fl exhaust use to be. If not I might take a day of and see my exhaust mate and have a play.

Ive noodled this idea mate, but there isnt enough room, unless you get in there and cut...

I run the 3inch hot side on my car through there, but I cut away half the battery tray ;)
