Re: FG F6 1/4mile run

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"These cars are not light and was not stripped out this is real full street trim with M/T radials.....also done 12.4 on factory tyres.

1900 kg;s with driver and half a tank of fuel on a 1.88-60 foot with under $900 of mods.... outstanding."

"You can get one for about 65-70 brand new..

12.1 for a tune only is bloody mental..

I'd love to see a VE GTS ( which cost much more then a FG F6 ) get anything close to that with a tune only"

"I'm a Expensive Daewoo man through and though but have to take my hat off to the new f6's, they are an awsome piece of work. 1.88 60ft is not so hot, tell me the turbo is takin a while to spool and car isn't launching so well. If this time could be brought down with either gears or stall maybe even a small shot of laughing gas these f6's would be straight into the 11's. How good would that be - Tune and small shot of gas = $1500-$2000 = 11 second pass"

see there are a few good ones! :stupid:

the majority of the LS1 boys respect the F6 big time, the ones that don't... well there just in denial that no HSV with a "tune" only would come close to that time, except "maybe" the W427 as I heard one recently from CV performace made 320rwkw with just a tune? or there abouts..

well done Paul!!

Re: FG F6 1/4mile run

"I thaught with that sort of rwkw ud be pulling a better time than that"

"And the full story is? Diff, stall??"

"Good time for the mods - bit slow considering the power though."

:3gears:

I knew they would start actin like theyr not impressed haha

for those with access LINKY

If they're not impressed with a stocker with 310kW running a 12.4, then the HSVs and W427 must be shameful

The 12.3 on a generic tune is almost as, if not more impressive than the FG!! Well done

These LS1 twits have no idea. I'd like to see a VE run low 12's with tune only. Couldn't even be used as a comparo really though as more R&D has been carried out on the VE than the FG due to the times they have been released...

Thanks guys....

Yes it's a mail order generic -cost me $595 including box- I kinda freaked out myself - as mentioned it was also a warm night as well - might give a another go in cooler conditions @Calder before it warms up.

With everything else stock she is consistent and pulls like a freight train!!!!

Cheers...

Nice one

Just make sure it's running safely before heading out again. Chuck it on a dyno for $50 & it might save you a few thousand down the track!

I think the 12.4 was run with street tyres but the car was tuned...307rwkw

This is correct guys.

I never bothered running it with stock tune.

I would think itwould run a high 12 on a good night.

Without tuning it would not launch as well, that's for sure.

Cheers Paul

iv seen a std FG F6 pull 286rwkw with no mods. then with a tune it pulled 307rwkw. then with a 4"dump pipe and good cat, 335rwkw.. the FGs have bigger injectors and a good intercooler as std and the head flows better than std aswell.. even the block is different along with rods, pistons and computer edit....cheers
