Cost wise ford charge $350 for both. This is for the V8 High performance engine with the larger air intake.. My question is this will it or won't it ?? I seriously doubt you are going to get 11kw out this mod. If you ring Fern Tree Gulley Auto they will be able to get you the genuine parts required for approx $190.Replacement after market panel air filters are not available yet.Benny

I will be picking it up tommorow or thursday. I read some where a guy dynoed with standard airbox on, then put V8 air box on a got 6 or 7rwkw.... I dont care as long as it gives me a bit more induction sound. A mate of mine has a BA. Had buggere all flutter when stock but once he put on F6 intake and K and N filter flutter was heaps louder.... Don't seriously doubt it mate. It's true. And I did it with 95ron fuel and ambient temps of 34 degrees C.FG-XR6T. I didn't notice an increase in induction noise with these parts fitted.I did notice, from the dyno runs, an increase in power and decrease in boost to make that power.Gotta be happy with that.Blue line is with larger airbox and snorkel.Red line is standard. Guest Guests Posted 01/10/08 02:07 PM Share Posted 01/10/08 02:07 PM Damn that's not a bad increase for a $165 mod!How far apart were the dyno runs done? Was the temp much different & were they strapped down the same though?? Different strapping alone can account for small gains/losses so 11Kw may not be entirely accurate. Was the temp much different & were they strapped down the same though?? Different strapping alone can account for small gains/losses so 11Kw may not be entirely accurate. We did a total of 10 runs. The first three were with the standard airbox. The next four with the larger one. Then three more runs to verify results.I can honestly say that heat soak played a massive game in power runs with every run done almost instantly back to back. After every run the following runs saw a drop of between 10-15rwkW every time. The car never left the dyno or was restrapped at any time and ambient temp was within 1 degree C between all the runs. The gap between the third run and the fourth run was a s long as it took me to remove the standard airbox and snorkel and fit the larger units. From memory it was about 5 or 6 minutes. The same process was done when changing back to the standard airbox.I agree that an 11rwkW gain may not be entirely accurate as there are variations between dynos, but until someone else can do the same testing that I have done, and supply proof, as I have done, I'm sticking with my claim of 11rwkW gain by fitting these items. Guest Guests Posted 02/10/08 04:28 AM Share Posted 02/10/08 04:28 AM Fair enough, seems as though the tests were conducted pretty accurately anyway so coudos to you
Benny Member 1,869 Member For: 21y 5m Gender: Male Location: Newcastle Posted 02/10/08 04:49 AM Share Posted 02/10/08 04:49 AM I stand corrected. Good to see the dyno graphs, good work PHANTMXR6.What is the second trend on the dyno graph?Benny
