Ok, had the turbo checked by Rotomaster ( Garrett Agents) here in Melbourne and all is normal. They had some interesting things to say in regards to the noise these things have on shut down.

Firstly, be weary if there is no noise or play at all, it is a sure indication the bearing pack is coked and full of sh*t. He showed me a brand new pack and one that had 100k on it and I saw what he meant, a real lead up to seizure.

Also in regards to the filter screens, the only reason they were fitted is, Ford was having problems removing all the fine sand particles from the block castings and Garrett would not warranty the turbo's without them. The tech's words to me were rip the thing out and just replace your oil regularly and you will not have a problem. He also suggested to replace the oil feed line at 50k, due to the possibility of coking.

These are the facts as explained to me and I am just passing this info on!

looks like way way too much. Ive done over 100k and I have the slightest bit of movement. I have been running a 10psi tune for around 2 years now with no dramas

I think they're about $90 iirc but don't quote me.

You'd be better off goin to Enzed & buying some braided hose/fittings/inline filter & making one up imho
