A former business associate of mine was suckered into buying this absoloute busked of sh*t VN in the early 90s.

He told me it was a HSV that had been worked to 230kw (most of the 8s then had 185kW), with a cam, full custom exhaust system, chip, race gear box and full suspension work.

When I saw it, it was a VN Executive with a leather interior, a dodgy fibreglass body kit, HSV badges, a cat back exhaust, and a 4 speed auto box. It sounded like crap, definatly no cam, it had saggy, lowered springs, had been smashed and rebuilt, the box clunked and whined (he was told that was normal because it was a race box) and it went like crap (if you stalled it up with a boot full, you didn't even get a chirp, it just bogged and gradually moved off the line). This guy was convinced it was the fastest thing on the road and wouldn't accept he'd been ripped off (he paid $45k, you could get a new Clubby for around that then).

He kept it for 10 years, it had to be repaired so many times, it averaged 25 litres per hundred and couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, but he always swore it had 230kW, and was the fastest thing he'd ever seen.

Maybe these douchebags actually beleive the crap that spurts out of their mouths.

Complete douchebag. Even my Late model camira mates are laughing at this.

The best way to settle this is on the track. When the work is done, flog him at the track (in your cars...lol)

My brother had a VX R8 with cams, CAI, edit and exhaust and had just over 300rwkw. I think it was good for about 110mph down the 1/4. I'm sure he cold only manage low 13's due to suspension (20's deep in the guard), heavy stereo etc. That said, it was red, sounded angry and any girl with half an interest in cars loved it....

Wasnt happy that it took him 300m to catch up to a 1220kg wrx with 150awkw. Who needs power when you cant use it!
