You can get a silencing kit for the 044 can't you?

Apparently makes the noise pretty negligible?

Tranny cooler is almost a given but how many people are actually running an oil cooler? The theory behind it is obviously good and I'm all for preventative/reliability mods. Just interested to know how many people are using or not using them.

I thought long and hard about getting my car tuned as I don't have the disposable income to blow on a car that's constantly having issues, or worse, goin' all deathstar on me...

But after a doing some research and talking to Mick at Pit Lane, I feel confident that the advice I'm being given is both sound and trustworthy.

If Mick had promised the world in terms of power or gave me little or no direction I would've been out the door and very likely still driving a standard car. As it is though, I've got the fastest car out of any of my mates and a solid plan of where to go from here (including where to stop...).

You'd have to say that with a good tuner and thoughtful dollars well spent on mods, you can have a reliable weapon that will eat just about anything else on the road for breakfast and still drive it to work every day.

That's why I'm so stoked I bought this car and not the NA I was originally considering.

Im seriously thinking Golf GTi instead..

Funny you say that, I have a family friend who has a thing for fast cars namely Ferrari's. In a conversation I had with him recently, he telling me about just receiving his 599.

I then asked him what he was driving every day and to my surprise he said GTI. I sat quite for a minute thinking is that some new Bentley, then said GTI as in GOLF, as in VW. I honestly got more talk about how rapt he was with his new golf than I could get about his new $600,000 toy.

So from my reports GTi is a great choice.

I think engine oil cooler is a must..

FPV Typhoon sticks one on there and they are only running a farts worth more boost than standard XR6T.. The turbo with more boost would absolutely fry the oil and kill its lubricating properties..

Ive asked a few tuners about the engine oil cooler and all of them said, nah dont worry about it, its a safety thing but dont really need it... (those same tuners slip you their business cards in cash you need an engine rebuild)

Process West make one for their Surge Tank which utilises the 044. Otherwise some decent rubber mounts will help

Hi,

I recently sold my XR6T.. Nice car.. The plan was sell it, buy a FG XR6T..

But the new owner has experienced a few problems with the BA XR6T... Which has disappointed me as much as it has him.

Who cares ? Really unless hes a family member or good friend , give him 50c so he can phone the RACV ( They Care ) :bum:

You got his money so his problem , not yours now , sounds like you offloaded it just in time :blaah:

With the standard XR6T 05 Series 2 , what size is the standard transmission cooler on it and what size would everyone recommend upgrading to ? Ta
