Ok.. First drive of the thing looks promising, I have NOT given it wot yet, but from 1500rpm in 2nd gear, with 1/4 throttle it seems to just turn the tyres........

Has this beast had its final tune yet? Very interested to hear of the final power figure.

Both Christian and myself went down to Autotechnique where we done a number of things. First thing we did was remove the blower/manifold again because the manifold had no boost reference point for the fuel regulator.. I only noticed this when I started tuning it wondering why it kept going lean given the fuel I was commanding.

So in talking to ken from Harrop, he suggested this could be due to a pre-production unit that Herrods got their hands on (which is whom we bought this kit from).

After I put a boost refrence into the manifold, I changed the plugs, and strapped it to the dyno.

First thing we noticed was the kit was 12psi, Mixed with a incredibly high compression ratio of 10.8:1, a few runs were done, and it was decided we are really pushing things too hard. I assumed this was a 8psi pulley, and given I could only put about 4degrees timing at peak torque indicated there was too much dynamic compression.

At this point, it made a lazy 292rwkw. Any more timing anywhere in the rpm caused it to detonate.

A larger pulley is in order now hopefully to bring boost down to a lower 8psi where we can put some timing into the engine, and make it effecient!

WOW

What a weapon.

FORD should employ you guys, pay you megabucks, produce this car as their F*****'n anniversary special, and watch the sales roll in!

More power to you.

Cant wait to see the final tuned result.

Not quite yet.. Christian only just got 3 pulleys from harrop of different sizes to see what size gives what boost.

he has his herrod extractors fitted, and a custom exhaust, which is a little too loud, so his getting that sorted also.
