ford blew my reference mb quarts during a fpv dash install.

dont know how doing a dash install has anything to do with changing settings on the factory head unit

I.e. volume @ 12

60hz on eq to near full

bass eq to +8db

this is very harmful as my system needs to run 20 volume and flat bass blas eq because the factory signal goes into a processor and then fed into amps.

so them cranking the settings on the headunit, and cranking the volume on the processor can be disastrious.

I can only assume, they saw my system and go oh lets see what this thing pumps out. cranked the settings on the headunit and figure oh why is it not doing anything, then cranked it on the processor(remote).

I guess it would be my word against theirs, unless the tech who did it admits to it(I highly doubt it)

so ontop of the 200$ for the install, the splits will cost me 800ish to replace makes this the most expensive fpv dash install in history.

Sorry to hear about it Kice, but like you said it's your word against theirs.

Good luck though.

Just think, if you had forked out for an F6 to start with you wouldn't be having these dramas now.

By the way, were your settings the same as when your car went in to have the dash fitted?

If they were you might have a hard time proving anything.

All I can say is Bugger......

No the settings were all flat. Even if they removed the battery the factory unit by default has bass eq etc etc to 0. Cant see how it got to +8 when I received it back?

No I did not have +8 before it went in because I know the headunit is bypassed.

Hopefully the proccessor has a log of events(it has time and date settings on it and it does log bits and peices (I.e. tune updates, warnings etc)

As expected they denied and said it was "like that" before it got in... I.e. blown speakers and amps, sounds as if they are covering their ass. I informed him no it was not like that, it was just muted(from processor) for the pure fact so nobody plays with it. So obviously someone must have been playing with the headunit levels trying to "see what the subs/system can do", and not realised that it uses external processing then found the remote for the external processor and cranked it up(already maxed out at headunit).

Headunit is tuned a flat everything and volume 17 and cannot be moved higher than 20 or will distort, so if this "kid" decided to crank it up to 35 "hang on it should be making noise", then cranked the eqs up +8db...., then found oh hey remote, cranked it to MAX on the processor.

I informed him that I am getting a damage report and diagnostics report from the processor and seeings he was not cooperating/covering up, may seek legal action if I have the proof.

Sry to hear about the install going wrong.... but err... how's the Dash? All working as expected? What did they do about the km's on the odo, or is this all managed by the puter these days?
