Hi guys n girls!

Just after some info, ideas and reassurance I guess..

I have a ZF 6 speed in a F6, 45,000kms; just had it serviced (pan/filter + ford $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ oil) last thursday and after picking it up and driving it home I have noticed it doesn't drive like it used to.

It feels as if it doesn't know which gear its in when you start accelerating from a stop as it seems to drop into gear before going in (which is obviously not smooth) and it also seems to hold onto gears a lot longer than it used to.

I should add the trans also seems to drop into 3rd (very soon after 2nd gear, almost changes two gears right after another) quite roughly whereas it used to be smooth right though to 6th.

I have had 2 other people who drive my car fairly often drive it since and both have commented the trans is doing 'funny things'/'slow changes' compared to how it used to drive. I didn't even ask them about how it drove, they both mentioned it on their own merit.. so now I am worrying.

I am hoping it is maybe 'learning' my driving style again but I am not sure as to why it would be doing this.. The only reason I got it serviced was to sharpen up the changed, make it run smoother/quieter again and it seems to have made things WORSE!

What do you think is the problem; is this at all normal? :crybaby:

my gearbox was doing the same thing as yours after ford played around with my speedo because sometimes it would just sit on 0 km even though I was doing a 100kph it would also flash what gear it was in on the dash every now and then as well as flashing the p when starting the car ive taken it back to ford and been told theirs nothing wrong it but its never been the same since , maybe when the oil was changed they bumped a cable or something good luck with it anyway

I have spoken to the workshop who did the work and they agree it is far from normal so it will be back in there first thing in the morning.

I hope it goes back to how it was or better as I first expected.

I will keep you guys up to date with what they find.

OK guys, I dropped the car off this morning and without even wanting to road test the car they popped it up on the hoist and went over the usuals..

The guys put in an extra 100ml of fords ZF trans fluid (ever so slightly low) and also reset the trans ECU.

20min later I am driving away and now find the car to be smooth as if not smoother than new; VERY HAPPY!

So there you go, if anybody reads this in the future after a trans service on the ZF, make sure the oil is EXACTLY spot on and give the ECU a good reset.. worked for me :)

cheers guys

The car is modified so I don't take it to ford for much, if anything haha!

I was thinking the shifts were a little laggy and rougher than they used to be (45,000kms) so I booked it in to have the service at a non ford workshop.

Very happy now that the initial issue has been resolved.

Also found out my diff bush is gone now too.. never ending haha; can I claim that under warranty you think?

Doesn't sound too modded if you can drive the car on a Ford reflash.

The car runs a tune as there is a few things done; the obvious things are exhaust/larger black IC the rest is stealthy..

What do you think my odds are on getting the diff bush replaced under warranty lol; the only suspension related mods is swaybars, nothing else at all like springs/shocks/lowering/camber kits..
