Apparently this is not uncommon and they had no issues with replacing the diff straight away. Now I have a serious amount of oil leaking from the intercooler.....The hits just keep comming!!! As its suposed to be a sealed system from filter back. You may have some real issues if you have a leak, and that you have enough oil to work its way down into the cooler. I am pissed about this. The car has just clocked over 4000kms and now I have a clunk at low speeds which happens when slightly accelerating, usually in traffic. I am off to have the diff inspected tomorrow by Peter Warren Ford. Hopefully they replace it. Keep you postedI have exactly the same problem. I bought an 2010 FG XR6T ute with 5000k 2 weeks ago. Driving it on the freeway I immediately noticed the whine. I've had a BA XR6 ute since 2003 and recently had the diff replaced by a 3rd party. I'm not sure how I put up with it for so long. Now my new FG has a louder diff than the old BA! WhenTF are Ford going to get diffs right? Its not like they are a new thing... cars have had them for a few years now!Anyone know a good dealer in Melb? (close to CBD or western)Besides that, I love the new ute and the 6 speed auto is great. Mirror appears to lack mass. Overall, pretty good though.Think they need to study Toyota build standards. Have had a few toyotas from new and even after years of use nothing rattles, squeks, breaks etc. I think that this may have changed now though. When I look and hear about their new cars, I think they may have peaked 3 or 4 years ago. I think in some respects, when an owner does have a problem, they can be b*st**rds as good as anyone. Have a read about Prado and Camry oil sludging......COMPLAINTS CORNER: TOYOTA KLUGER, , ENGINE - COMPLAINTS CORNER.COM

sten Member 45 Member For: 14y 6m 18d Posted 20/09/10 01:22 PM Share Posted 20/09/10 01:22 PM My fg is a 09 model with 12000kms on the clock. I did the first high way way drive last w/e for 3 hours sat then 3 hrs again on sun. I found my diff whine on light acceleration from 100km/hr. I thought it was the turbo at first but it is def the diff. I called my dealer. The only one in Townsville and he told me it is normal. I will try again tomorrow. Has anyone had this this fixed or the Clinton issue fixed? Thanks Sten

Had a few things that I wanted ford to look at - including the diff. The mechanic when we went for a drive said nar is all the ZF cause it wouldnt do it for that split second when changing gears. Its a real pain at 95kmph, 4th, 5th or 6th gear. after they had my car for 7 hours they finally came back and said to me that year they were now sure it was the diff. One for customer and forum (wouldnt have know what to look for unless I read it here) nill for ford. So it goes in for new diff in a weeks time. Painfully really cause I dont rape my car. Sure it gets pushed every now and then but nothing stupid. Cannot aford to replace it. Plus one though for Ford. At least I didnt have to push to get them to fix it. Went really smooth. Does help when you take the car in the spotless.Sten - this was carmichael ford townsville also. Had super service with them so far. Didnt get the car there either. Better then when I had my FG ute from Byrne ford Kedron/Chermside in Brisbane. Edited 01/10/10 11:35 AM by Kingo199

Car works even better now. Smooth as, no issues any more. Definatly was diff noise. Ford also noticed that the weather shields were coming unstuck. Restuck them on for me at no cost. Good service. I'll be taking it in soon for 15000 and hopefully get a fix.Took it in to ford and they're claiming it's the angle of the diff because I have lowered it. From reading on here I'm pretty convinced that lowering it will not have caused the problem.Anybody here with the issue with lowered cars?

Someone at Ford needs their ar$e kicked for allowing the issue and the D/Line shunt issues to go on for 8 years. They are great cars but the build quality is crap.
