Yep, TC is turned off with one press, held down and it turns off both.

So does anything show on the dash to tell you TC is off? I'm sure nothing shows on mine with just a quick press, haven't tried to test if it's off though. ;-)

Try putting electrical tape around the striker, if that stops the rattle then adjust/tighten the striker.

I have inspected the striker as I recalled your issue, it's not loose and shows no sign of wear, etc. It does seem to be the area where the noise is coming from.

FG Diff's??? - My FG XR6T (Sedan) which has 27,000km on the clock is now sitting on a hoist at FORD having the rear diff hat seal replaced as I found oil on the garage floor. When FORD initially inspected the car they also found that the timing case seal needed replacing as oil was found around the sump area and further to add that coolant had leaked from hosing around the air-cond that needed repairing... All to be fixed under warranty...

I have a 2010 FG turbo ute. Between 100-115km/h the diff whines its head off. I am pissed about this. The car has just clocked over 4000kms and now I have a clunk at low speeds which happens when slightly accelerating, usually in traffic. I am off to have the diff inspected tomorrow by Peter Warren Ford. Hopefully they replace it. Keep you posted

Had the same problem in my BF. Whined and vibrated from 105-120km/h. Took it to ford and told them it was the diff, the bloke working on it said its not, he has fixed the problem on lots of them by adjusting the balance on the the tailshaft. He did that, and now its silent! Only a very very slight amount of noise when backing off.

BTW this was my second diff, less than 2000kms old. It was replaced earlier trying to fix the same problem.

One thing: These cars are not perfect. They have noises and vibrations that will always be there. They are cheaply made powerful cars, accept that and the little things wont bother you anymore.

If its anything like my 2010 FG Oil leaking Turbo issue, the diff will have to fall out onto the

road b4 it gets replaced..

My FG also has a diff clunk... I first noticed it while the engine is hunting when after a cold start and idling in drive. The engine hunts up and down causes a horrible clunk noise in the poor diff while the engine takes a few mins to smooth out and warms up!

Im not going to bother taking it back to ford again.

MY CAR GOES IN TUESDAY WEEK, 14 of JUNE.

2010 March Build

FG XR6T Ute

Manual

Any ways, diff has whined ever scince I got it, I think I got a lemon though because it whines regardless of speed and its louder than my mates sooby with a straight cut gearbox. My diff clunks with any application of the accelerator pedal, my clutch rattles when out of gear and clutch pedal out, clutch pedal in, doesnt rattle. The tailshaft has about 5 to 8mm of slack in it, I can turn it 1/8 of a revolution with the car in gear in the drive way, all slack in the joints from the back of gearbox to the center connection, and then the same amount of slack going back into the diff. The gearbox clunks changing gears, and I mean it cluncks before I have left the clutch out, it like I said then clunks as soon as I touch the accelerator pedal.

I took my car in at 1800ks and asked for it to be fixed and for an oil change. I got the car back, nothing fixed, was told it was still running in so I should come back at 15,000k's. And they forgot to change the oil, I rang them and said I had checked my oil and it hadnt been changed, service deperatment assured me it had been. They rang me back 2 hours later to appologise. I had to hire a loan car for them to tell me nothing was wrong and NOT service my car. Like I said goes back in tuesday, again I have to hire a car which is twice im out of pocket for no work accutaly being done to my car. It gets fixed this time or im going to seek help from the appropriate parties.

:censored: RANT OVER...

Yeah but seriously, very poor customer service.
