Towbar Cap

Has anyone else done this to there xr that's fitted with a towbar. It neatens it up heaps.

To do this just measure out were the towbar arm protrudes and then mark the cut out. then stanley knife a line along the lines till the incisions are deep. Then get a hacksaw blade and start cutting alond the incisions until youve cut it out. Then use a stanley knife to clean the edges up.You will have to move the trailer loom back because it protrudes past the cap.you might need a battery drill to screw it further back on the plate. Hope this helps you out.

ive been wanting to get a towbar for adges but was wanting to hide it when not in use towbar guys were useless said they couldnt make one that sat back far enough

oh and those clear tails look good to its nice to see some that have the chrome strip looks crap and cheap without it

Cheers Man yeah I really dig the tail lights. Ive actually got a spare cap that I bought that ive cut out if your interested?

An even better idea is not to buy the Ford towbar and to buy after market like I did.

The fixed part is a little shorter and the cap fits back in place without the cut out. So you can't even tell the car has a towbar.

This is for existing ford towbars and would be a heaps cheaper option than buying a whole new tow kit. But yeah if you were gonna buy one, that would be a good Idea

Spray paint the towbar lip the same colour as the car ,it will hide it a little better
